I am a Mum and my husband and I are experienced Flatmates who prefer to share with males. Our own kids have left home. So we have 3 rooms we rent out. We just don't want Flatmates with children, pets OR people who drink too heavily..but we're not wowsers all 4 of us (we rarely bump into each other as is a big house).. we all in our own time, enjoy a drink or a chat at the right time. There is 1 room left if you are interested,out of 2 more that have already been taken up by two easygoing full-time worker family men, who travel back home to their famliies' on the weekend. Hubby Dave works full-time, and I travel with my job about 2 to 3 weeks out of the month also, so the set-up has worked very well for everyone as we are all easy-going, mature and busy working, and hardly see each other. We all share the modern kitchen/dining room/two fridges and laundry facilities in the middle of the house really well. Dave and I are up the front end of house where we have our own area, having a bedroom/en-suite and lounge-room there, where we two hang out. The house situated in a nice leafy street, has plenty of room for everyone to feel independent from each other, as outside has a large backyard/BBQ area, swim-spa and a covered pergola with TV. Inside has an extra underutilised family/TV room, and if we DO cross-paths, then each of us are up for a quick chat if anyone's in the mood. .
