We are a couple, Ryan and Ida, living in a sweet house at the foot of the Dandenong's, about 20m from the first bushwalking tracks that leads to many more. We are looking for someone/s to stay in our spare room, because we think it is a shame that a whole room is empty all of the time. We are most likely only staying here until May-June, but after that it might be possible for you to take over the lease of the house. This is not something we have confirmed with the landlord, but he is a reasonable, nice guy. He lives in a house just down the street (though that does not mean we see too much of him at all). Since moving here six months ago we have set up a veggie patch where we are have grown/are growing zucchinis, tomatoes, beetroots, carrots, potatoes, herbs, broccoli, corn, pumpkins etc. If you enjoy garden work, that is awesome and you are welcome to help out. If not, we might still want you to help out with watering the garden once in a while. And the harvest is of course for everyone. We also have three beautiful chooks that usually lay an egg each per day. The room in question is furnished with a single bed (though you can fit a bigger bed in there), night table, a clothes rack and a built-in wardrobe, but anything you don't want in the room can be moved. Rent includes all bills (electricity, water, internet). It would be fine for a single person or a couple to stay in (in the latter case rent is $925 p/m). The house has two bathrooms, of which one has a shower/bathtub. To get to the city it is a 20 minute walk, or a quick downhill bike ride, to The Basin village where there are bus connections to Boronia or Bayswater where you can catch the Belgrave line that takes about 40 minutes to Flinders St. There is also space to park a car outside the house. There are usually free parking spots available near Bayswater Station, and sometimes by Boronia Station if you're early.
