Hi, I have a fully furnished room (QS bed; cupboard) that will be AVAILABLE FROM 2 July 2017. My lovely housemate's work contract has ended and she is moving back to Maitland! I am away often for extended periods (I am a full-time research student) but I will be around until at least September. My house is a RENOVATED WEATHERBOARD close to Queanbeyan CBD. There is a lovely garden and back deck. Gas heating and cooking and solar hot water (with a manual electric booster) and NBN wireless and 4G. There is off-street parking for one car and on-street parking is time unlimited. There is public transport a short walk to town (less than 10 minutes) and Queanbeyan railway station is a 15 minute walk. And if you work in Canberra city, there is a park-and-ride just across the border in Fyshwick. Or if you are into cycling there is bicycle path into Canberra that swings past the park-and-ride. Because I am away a lot, I am looking for someone who is willing to do the garden while I am not there - THIS IS ESSENTIAL! OR you will need to pay to have someone do it. You must be a clean and tidy person to live with. It's a 5 minute walk to the Fyshwick markets for all of your fresh food shopping on the weekend and Narrabundah shops for restaurants, your local grocer, a community garden and a cute little op shop with lots of cute vintage finds too. Civic and Woden are both a 10 min drive. There's an oval a couple of blocks down the street and beautiful walks around the place with forrest-y feels and a creek too! There's much to explore! The house: The house itself is a gorgeous spacious and modern home with old-school charm. We have a big back yard with a BBQ, fire bin and veggie patch. The house has central heating essential for Canberra's winters and summers, the living room is huge with big windows that bring in gorgeous morning sun, the place is fully equipped (the photos are old, we have a TV now!) but there's always room for more stuff and there's extra storage in the garage too. The room: The room is a good size and fits my queen bed, TV, two sets of large drawers and a bedside table with heaps of room to spare for those who want a desk and extra furniture. It has built in wardrobes and a big window that looks onto the garden.

The apartment is super close to the Kingston shops, so you have all the convenience of cafes and gyms and transport very close by. There are lots of busses connecting the area to Civic and the South. The apartment is on the top floor so it gets decent sun on the balconies on both sides through Summer and Winter, and the main living areas are well lit by natural light. It's also far away enough from main roads that there isn't much noise at night time. My housemate that is moving will be taking most of the furniture, and I'm open to either buying new stuff or letting a potential room-mate put theirs in instead.
