So i have a private room available for a single person at the rear of the house which looks into the garden with BIR and TV. My housemate Olivier and I get along great and we are looking for another like minded individual who will respect the house and the housemates and just be generally down to earth and nice! Hi guys, I've recently moved from Brisbane to Melbourne and am looking for a housemate for the second bedroom in my unit in Highett. Rent is $800 per calendar month and bills (water, gas, electricity and internet) are to be split evenly. Bond is also required so that will be an additional $800. The room is not furnished, measures 3680mm x 2960mm and has built in shelving with it's own private access to the outdoor area. The unit itself is spacious with a good sized living/dining room, kitchen, laundry and bathroom. It has ducted heating, an ac unit and is mostly furnished (couch, TV, washing machine). The only thing I don't have yet is a full sized fridge so if by any chance someone has one then you'd make me a pretty happy housemate! Looking at the 3 and 4 bedroom houses they seemed to be much nicer and less expensive split between 3 or 4 people. We thought by teaming up with some people in similar situations we could all have a say in what house was decided on. This property is a large 5 bedroom house split over 3 levels. Your area upstairs is consists of 3 bedrooms and one bathroom. I recommend using one of these as your lounge as I use the middle lounge. In the middle level is a Kitchen shared by all flatmates. This level is fully furnished with full working kitchen, everything you need to cook and serve a meal is provided. I have a large fridge and if we find that's not enough space then I have a bar fridge you can use. On the lowest level is my bedroom and storage. Separate from that is the Laundry and my small Bathroom. For this reason, It's always a good idea to check im not using the shower etc. Ideally looking for a couple or single to rent all of upstairs for said price. That way we it remains a quiet home with not too many living here.

One of them is myself (Jess)…30 years old and a retail manager and business owner. I work Tues – Sat and am usually doing something after work each night. The other one is James, a 28 year old guy that does something to do with concrete and sealing it. He’s home at weird hours as he works weird hours…and sometimes he’s not home at all for a week or two. Before you ask, no we are not a couple. We do share a bathroom but we have separate bedrooms…heck we don’t even go in each others rooms unless its important (like a spider in the house that I am freaking out over). We are both very easy going, sociable people that enjoy the same as most. We are happy to have a chat throughout the day/night over dinner etc however know when to give each other space too. We don’t care if you have people over or anything, as long as everyone is respectful of one another and you don’t damage the place. So I guess you want to know about the house? Well, it’s on centre road. Yes that’s a main road and there’s a bit of traffic noise but you do get used to it. The bonus is that there is a bus stop literally at our front door. We are also smack bang in the middle of Southland and Chadstone. Its 10 mins to either one and woollies, maccas, red rooster, the car wash (I hear it’s a good one) and other shops are literally a 5 min walk away. The house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and comes complete with furniture (except for the room that’s available). It has polished floorboards throughout, wifi, ducted air con, heating, dishwasher (we don’t use it though), washing machine and all the other basics. Bond is $572 and rent is $141 per week ($610 pcm)…and no…that’s not a spelling mistake. It’s actually that cheap for this awesome place. We also have a courtyard complete with a washing line, small shed, hammock and a mini lemon tree (don’t get excited…its only produced 2 lemons in the space of 3 years, it’s a dud). The main bathroom is the one James and I use. The third roomie is welcome to use it also, otherwise they can have the second toilet/shower as their own bathroom…score! There is also just us and the unit behind us (who are lovely, very quiet people…) on the block. Unfortunately we do have bills to pay which we split evenly and are not included in rent. There’s internet, gas, water and electricity. One final thing, there is a cat at the property...which I understand can be a decision maker...but to make things even better...there is a table tennis table too! I have lived here for 27 years now, the House has Evaporative Cooling, Ducted Heating and Ceiling Fans. The Bedroom is a Double Bedroom with Mirror Wardrobes, and has a Double Bed and a Study Desk. There is a Family room which looks out onto a Decking out the back which has sliding doors out to it. It is a 5 minute walk to Moorabbin Tafe College, a 10 minute drive to the Beach and a 5 min drive to a Gym/Pool. Public Transport is at the end of the Street and Moorabbin Station is only a 5 minute drive. There is an Athletic Track which is just over the back fence with easy access for those that like to do their walking/jogging laps. The house is kept very clean at all times, I do have a Cleaner come once a fortnight, but I do expect you to clean up after yourself.
