I live in a 3BD, 2BR apartment in the new Axiom complex in Griffith and have one room available for rent. The room is brand new and has a big sliding door to allow plenty of natural light in and give you direct access to the balcony. There are shut out blinds for privacy and mesh blinds for limiting the sunlight coming in. You will also have a separate bathroom with its own spacious shower. The bathroom doubles as a shared laundry, but this can be hidden behind doors when not in use and does not take up too much space. The lounge room is fully furnished, has reverse cycle air conditioning, and there is an outdoor gas heater on the balcony so you can be cosy outside too! We have unlimited VDSL internet with fast speeds (up to 40 Mb/sec) which is included in the rent, a Netflix subscription on the TV, an Xbox One and an Optus Sport subscription that I’m happy to share (to get your Prem fix). The complex also has a common use BBQ in the courtyard that would be great for parties! We are a 3 minute drive (or 15 minute walk) from Manuka, which has a Coles, 24/7 Maccas and a bunch of other places to go out and eat. We’re also super close to the Kingston shops with some great cafes, and a bit past that is the Kingston Foreshore. There are bus stops nearby, and plenty of on-street parking behind the building and on surrounding streets where you can leave your car during the day if you don’t drive to work.

This older style flat is an affordable option to consider if you are looking for something in the Kingston/Manuka area. There are lots of restaurants, bars and cafes to try out if you are new to Canberra. Public transport to Civic (routes 4, 5 and 200) and even the train station is nearby. The room is medium-sized so a queen bed will fit in nicely and there is plenty of clothes storage in the inbuilt wardrobe. The toilet is shared but you will have your own ensuite and the covered parking spot is all yours. Happy to share the housework which is very minimal in any case. The lease for the property will end in November but there is the option to extend.

Very close to Campbell Shops, Civic, not far from ANU and the Australian War Memorial. It is also convenient to get around with bus stops very close by to many areas of Canberra. Our home is across the road from Mt Ainslie nature reserve and is a short walk to local shops, quick cycle or reasonable walk to the city and close access to buses. We have a warm and friendly homey home. We have interests in art, environment, politics, movement, self-development and cultural exchange etc. We tend not to watch much tv and would probably not be suitable for someone who is a large watcher. We value direct and thoughtful communication with each other and would expect that from people staying. We also value everyone contributing to keeping things around the house functional and the communal spaces clean and tidy :) The room is a large furnished spacious downstairs room. There is a comfy bed and loungesuite, private toilet, modest kitchenette (kettle and toaster provided) and direct access to back courtyard. There is central heating in the main house which we use thoughtfully however it doesn't extend downstairs so be prepared for a bit of chill!
