We are looking for a happy, friendly housemate to share our home. About the room: Sunny, north facing room with a huge built-in wardrobe. It can come either furnished, or unfurnished. We have a wrought iron queen bed frame, a big wooden chest of drawers, and an antique wooden desk and chair we can offer. The mattress is really comfortable. About the house: It is a cosy and sunny house, with off-street parking, three bedrooms, a bathroom (both a bath and a shower), separate toilet, reverse cycle air-con, dishwasher, and bathroom heat lamps. There is also a big backyard with lots of fruit trees, a big organic veggie garden, a garage and bike shed, as well as a large front garden. About the area: Mount Ainslie is behind our house and you can walk up it via a ridge that also runs along in front of the house, with lots of pretty birds and kangaroos. We are in between Dickson and Ainslie shops (a 5 min ride either direction, or you can take the bus), and there’s a bus that goes to the city/ANU directly opposite our house. Otherwise, the bike path is just a few metres from our house, is a pretty ride through the wetlands and takes about 10-15 minutes to get to Civic. The suburb has nice wide streets and is a relaxing haven from the city, while also feeling very close to everything.
In a quiet suburb, really nice neighbour and near to the city, bus stand nearby and really good housemates. Won't have any problem staying here. Has separate entrance, a separate hall, will have your own TV and fridge also so you can get privacy. The Car park is also available.
Hello! We’ve just signed the lease on a beautiful old Ainslie house, and are looking for like-minded people to create a home with. We are Clancy and Alice, a mid-20s couple who’ve been studying postgrad in Melbourne and traveling interstate and overseas for the past 7 years. We both love beach time, reading and live music, and also get excited about gardening, cooking huge vegan feasts, and hosting dinner parties and friends. Suddenly we have adult jobs – Alice as a Researcher at the Australian Indigenous Governance Institute (ANU) and Clancy as Campaigns Manager at Community Shapers. There’s no illusions that the system is rigged, and we’re trying to balance work life with the desire to affect change where we can. Part of this is creating a communal, fun and supportive household, where we share vegetarian/vegan feasts, get creative, have interesting conversations, and enjoy evening drinks together. Our ideal future housemates are people (2-3) with a serious commitment to green living, shared food and a general passion for life. Great location just around the corner from the Ainslie shops. The house itself has a classic grandmother/30s meets 70s feel, with vibrant wallpaper and carpet that leaves the mind reeling. Two smallish rooms are available, one with a cavernous built-in wardrobe, and the other with balcony and view to the backyard. Both rooms are north facing, with all the warmth the winter sun can offer. There’s also a big rickety shed and huge backyard, with veggie garden and chook shed underway. (The veggie garden will be extensive!) The house will be semi-furnished, so extra furniture and knick-knacks welcomed. The rent will depend on how many people move in, couples can expect to pay between $200-220 and singles between $160-180, plus shared bills and a month's bond. Looking for long term people, but if you can move in immediately, please feel free to get in touch. If this sounds like your sort of house, please message us a bit about yourself and what you want in a house.
Its close to the Watson and Dickson shops, The bus stops (39) just out side and if you just miss it you can walk 3 minutes down and the road and still catch it in 7 minutes. Or if you have a car the driveways all yours. The room is the main room 3.4m x 3.8m with built-in robe.
The house is a recently renovated heritage listed property on a leafy street in Ainslie. One of our housemates has just moved out and we now have a room available. The house has zoned heating and cooling and modern wood combustion fireplaces (indoor and out), pool, outdoor entertaining area, veggie patch, a few chickens and is close to shops, restaurants and bus stops. The house is large with bedrooms at either end of the house. There are two separate living areas and separate entrances. There is also a kitchenette in addition to the main kitchen pictured. The light filled bedroom has a built in wardrobe, solid double brick walls and fits a queen sized bed. One can be provided if required.

Good size furnished room with wardrobe in a sunny relaxed older style and quirky house. Close to bus and shops. Housemates include a 40+ and a 30+ professional, plus one small and friendly dog. Ideally looking for a new housemate who is in their late 20's or older. Large sunny backyard with many lovely native birds, heaps of herbs and vegetable patch that needs attention. I am respectful of privacy and personal space, and the house has two living spaces which is a bonus. The shower, bath and toilet are all separate which also makes for easy sharing. The house is relaxed but clean (a weekly cleaning roster makes this stress free :)). Food and cooking is separate - and there is lots of space in kitchen cupboards and extra fridge. Electricity, gas and water are extra costs. Rent includes internet/phone. No smoking household.
1 bedroom of our house in Downer will be avaliable at the end of the month/in June. The room is spacious, big enough for a queen bed and a desk, with built in robes. The house has ducted gas heating (and cooling in summer) and a pool. Located a five minute walk from Watson shops, a three minute drive to Dickson shops, and a six minute run (at my slow ass pace) to Mt. Majura - what more could you want?! The garden is full of fruit trees, there are veggie beds ready and waiting as well as a double lock up garage. The house is dated, in a charming way, but in really good nick and has heaps of storage. The room is $195 p/w + utilities. Internet is unlimited NBN, $20 p/m. Bond is $786.
ROOM AVAILABLE FROM 3 June **Looking for someone who would eventually take on the lease of the property themselves.** Similar to the main bedroom, this room can fit a queen bed and desk, and has built in cupboards. Lovely East facing room. The room also has fantastic heating, which is a massive bonus throughout winter. There are wooden floorboards downstairs, and carpet upstairs, and plenty of storage under the stairs. The house has two bathroom, with the main bathroom being shared (including bath), and the downstairs one tacking onto the laundry. The kitchen has recently been reno'ed. We have a lovely backyard, with a shed to put some of your stuff. Parking is on the nature strip only. The house is 2 minutes from bus line 7, which takes you into Belco, or alternatively into the City/museum. Northbourne Avenue is about a ten minute walk from the house. We are exactly in the middle of Dickson and Ainslie shops, which is really convenient for grocery shopping. We're looking for a relaxed, and easy going professional. We work full time, but would love to hangout on weekend. The house split bills equally, and all chip in to do the cleaning and gardening. We have a pretty clear expectation of respect and don't need to house train anyone. Everything in the house is provided and all that is required of you is to clean up after yourself and think of the other people you live with. We would be really happy to show you around, and get to know you a bit. Email if you have any questions. Thanks, Kim and Sam
