We are lucky enough to have a beautiful cottage located down the end of the Mornington Peninsula, located on a hill with overlooking the Portsea surroundings. Here, we share great memories with our dearest friends throughout the year when we are not studying up in Melbourne. We often rent our home out as a short-term holiday rental to paying guests, just enough to cover the bills and in between get to enjoy an incredible location that is halfway between the bay and the surf beaches. We are thinking of creating 2 self contained areas to rent to longer term. A self contained area would include a bedroom, either (1 or 2) single or double bed (for a couple) a shower and toilet, own living space, and outdoor space, a mini fridge, a microwave, kettle and toaster. Internet is not set up as yet, but could be negotiated. Plug in heater is included and a fan/cooler. Your area would not be accessible to the main house and you would be able to live privately with your own entrance. The house is set in a large garden with a vegetable garden and a tree house. You are welcome to enjoy the entire outdoor garden area. There is parking space for one car. One issue can be that there is little garbage space and so you may need to take care of that independantly. I would prefer mature quiet minded people. I have children, so females will get priority. I will consider a couple (of any description) sharing at $400 per week, including bills, but not wifi. No smoking and drug taking is a necessity. I am currently painting and doing maintenance, mostly physically on my own and I acknowledge that I may need access to paint the exterior of the space that you occupy. I promise to respect your privacy. At present the house continues to be booked through airbnb as an entire house. One booking is for 5 days in May and another is a weekend in August. Great central location, a street back from Eastern Beach. The house is old but comfortable. 2 living areas, air conditioning in one, ducted heating throughout. Rooms have built in wardrobes. I have 2 rooms available and will fill both if I can get the right mix of housemates. Otherwise I will just fill one room and rent would be more I don't have a lot of furniture as I've lived pretty minimally the last couple of years but have some basics. There is also an IGA and Aldi supermarket within walking distance. Rent is $180 per week including all bills, toilet paper, cling wrap/foil etc and cleaning products. The room can come with a bed and 2 bedsides if required also. Bedroom with a ceiling fan that comfortably fits a queen bed, 2 bedside and a chest of draws in it depending how you set the room up. You would share the main bathroom whilst I have an ensuite but visitors will also be using this bathroom so cleanliness is a must.
