We are looking for a happy, friendly housemate to share our home. About the room: Sunny, north facing room with a huge built-in wardrobe. It can come either furnished, or unfurnished. We have a wrought iron queen bed frame, a big wooden chest of drawers, and an antique wooden desk and chair we can offer. The mattress is really comfortable. About the house: It is a cosy and sunny house, with off-street parking, three bedrooms, a bathroom (both a bath and a shower), separate toilet, reverse cycle air-con, dishwasher, and bathroom heat lamps. There is also a big backyard with lots of fruit trees, a big organic veggie garden, a garage and bike shed, as well as a large front garden. About the area: Mount Ainslie is behind our house and you can walk up it via a ridge that also runs along in front of the house, with lots of pretty birds and kangaroos. We are in between Dickson and Ainslie shops (a 5 min ride either direction, or you can take the bus), and there’s a bus that goes to the city/ANU directly opposite our house. Otherwise, the bike path is just a few metres from our house, is a pretty ride through the wetlands and takes about 10-15 minutes to get to Civic. The suburb has nice wide streets and is a relaxing haven from the city, while also feeling very close to everything.

Two rooms available in a large, homey sharehouse. PLEASE NOTE - I charge a flat rate which includes Netflix, unlimited internet and utilities for both rooms at $230 and $240 respectively. Any potential pets are welcome but would increase rent by $20pw. The place itself is great. The toilet is separate to the bathroom. Who we are looking for: Our house is an all-female, LGBT friendly space. I am ideally looking for individuals who are employed full-time and not room hermits. The space is really big and there to be used. That being said as I am out a lot, I am also looking for individuals who are independent and happy to do their own thing. Really a balance between someone who is friendly and happy to chat/have the occasion bevvie, but respectful of personal space. Another key criterion is cleanliness. I like to share the cleaning with my housemates and would ideally be looking to clean shared spaces once a week. I'd like housemates who take the initiative to clean without having to be asked - of course this goes for me as well! Think you'd be a good fit for our home? Shoot me a message! To help me get to know you, please include answers to the following questions: 1 - What do you think makes an ideal housemate? 2 - What do you like to do for fun? 3 - What is your ideal weekend?

Hello! We’ve just signed the lease on a beautiful old Ainslie house, and are looking for like-minded people to create a home with. We are Clancy and Alice, a mid-20s couple who’ve been studying postgrad in Melbourne and traveling interstate and overseas for the past 7 years. We both love beach time, reading and live music, and also get excited about gardening, cooking huge vegan feasts, and hosting dinner parties and friends. Suddenly we have adult jobs – Alice as a Researcher at the Australian Indigenous Governance Institute (ANU) and Clancy as Campaigns Manager at Community Shapers. There’s no illusions that the system is rigged, and we’re trying to balance work life with the desire to affect change where we can. Part of this is creating a communal, fun and supportive household, where we share vegetarian/vegan feasts, get creative, have interesting conversations, and enjoy evening drinks together. Our ideal future housemates are people (2-3) with a serious commitment to green living, shared food and a general passion for life. Great location just around the corner from the Ainslie shops. The house itself has a classic grandmother/30s meets 70s feel, with vibrant wallpaper and carpet that leaves the mind reeling. Two smallish rooms are available, one with a cavernous built-in wardrobe, and the other with balcony and view to the backyard. Both rooms are north facing, with all the warmth the winter sun can offer. There’s also a big rickety shed and huge backyard, with veggie garden and chook shed underway. (The veggie garden will be extensive!) The house will be semi-furnished, so extra furniture and knick-knacks welcomed. The rent will depend on how many people move in, couples can expect to pay between $200-220 and singles between $160-180, plus shared bills and a month's bond. Looking for long term people, but if you can move in immediately, please feel free to get in touch. If this sounds like your sort of house, please message us a bit about yourself and what you want in a house.
