In the heart of Melbourne's hip Fitzroy we're a stone's throw from Gertrude St, and a short stroll to Brunswick and Smith streets. On the 86, 12, 11 and 109 tram lines, and walking distance to 96 tram line and North Richmond train station. The city is only 5 minutes away. We're also walking or biking distance to Fitzroy Gardens, and the Merri Creek walking and bike trail. A very affordable 24/7 gym is just around the corner. Walking distance to several supermarkets (Coles, Woolies and ALDI) and local grocers and farmer's markets. St Vincent's Hospital is also walking distance.

The house has a warm and homely feel, with comfy living room, and lovely garden settings in front and back so plenty of space to share or find some space for yourself. A 4 bedroom terrace, you'd be living with myself (single mum and a nurse) and my social 5 year old son, Miles. Me, Charlotte, I've traveled extensively, lived in many share houses with all types and nationalities, and enjoyed the party scene for many years. Very happy living the quieter life now as a mum. But always on the look out for family friendly fun and festivals. I've been a nurse for 17 years. Currently working in General Practice, mon/wed/fri, which I love. I spend my spare time reading (either to my son or doing professional development), gardening, watching movies, or catching up with our friends. I also like to get handy with some tools, fixing things around the house. I recently fixed the washing machine (can you here the proud tone).

Miles is an energetic, creative and bright boy. He started prep this year and is settling into a good routine. He's a very friendly and funny boy with a huge imagination. He loves to be around people and is quick to connect with new people. He loves climbing, drawing, Lego, cartoons and will happily sit for hours while someone (usually me) reads to him from his huge book collection. I'd like someone who is happy to interact with Miles. It's important that he develops a connection with the people who live here for his emotional development and security. But we also respect one another's personal space and have our own lives.

We're waiting on a Tamaruke puppy 🐢 too :-) They're non-shedding dogs that "apparently" don't even smell when wet. The dog will be my responsibility, but anyone keen to help provide pats, play, walks and help reinforce discipline would be a bonus!

For obvious reasons this is not a party house. No smokers, substance users or heavy drinkers please. We're clean living and environmentally conscious. That's not to say I don't enjoy a glass of wine, or know the benefits of a good burger. And I keep a secret stash of chocolate somewhere. But we try to live sustainably, take care of ourselves and each other. We're not out partying every weekend or bringing the party home. Having said that, friends and family are always welcome guests. We love being around people and having visitor's popping in and out gives the house more life πŸ˜€

With past housemates we've gotten along very well together and when we're home we catch up and talk about our days, share a glass of wine and the occasional meal or hang out with a movie, drink tea, eat cake or visit local cafes and markets together. Our rooms are our sanctuaries and privacy is respected.

All the usual appliances are here: fridge, freezer, washer, dryer, gas oven/stove, microwave, blender, TV/DVD, chromecast, gas heating in the living room, and portable oil heaters in the bedrooms. In the summer the house stays pretty cool downstairs, but fans help in the upstairs rooms. The bathroom has a toilet, shower over bathtub, and separate vanity area with large mirror. There's a second W.C in the back garden. There's also an indoor rower that people are welcome to use.

We keep the house clean and reasonably tidy, and would like someone who will contribute equally to regular house work and maintenance beyond simply doing your dishes (ie, the bathroom, floors, kitchen etc).

We have a large TV but no free to air TV reception, so viewing is restricted to DVDs or streaming via chromecast.

There is on street parking available with a permit for $70/year. We have a visitor's permit for guests.

If this sounds like a home you'd enjoy living in we'd love to hear from you.
