Hi future housemate (and hopefully friend)

I work full time, evenings and weekends. I live a very quiet lifestyle and looking for a minimum six months stay in a household with a nice balance of being social and doing our own thing. I like reading and op-shopping.

I'm looking to be part of a household where I'm welcome and we look out for each other. If you're looking for a housemate purely for financial gain, we won't be a good fit.

I'm not a good vibes only person, I understand that we all have bad days and we aren't our best selves when we're struggling or under stress. That's why my two main values for sharehousing are communication and consideration.

We don't have to have the same communication style, I can adapt, but we need to be able to communicate openly with each other. I don't believe in letting things fester or springing things on each other. I think any issue or concern within the normal range of cohabitation can be resolved if we set aside some time to discuss them as they come up.

I like a tidy home, not a clinically spotless one. As part of the consideration/communication thing, we can talk about what tidy means for both of us and stay on the same page.

I would give the courtesy of letting you know beforehand if someone was coming over you hadn't met before and would appreciate the same in return. I think once we've met each other's family, friend, partner or situationship a few times, it isn't necessary but happy to continue it if you think it is.

I would require a written agreement and for my bond to be lodged with the RTA. I will only pay rent via bank transfer as that automatically creates an e-record. This is to give us both peace of mind.
