Hi! I'm Thomas, a 48-year-old Software Engineer moving from India to Darwin in September.

Quick Status:

Will be landing in Darwin, mid-September 2026.
Am trying to secure a flat before I get there (if possible).
I am open to video calls/verifications/inspections and paying up the bond via bank transfer (from my Australian bank account) immediately.

About me:

I am moving to Darwin for good where I intend to settle down.

I am Indian, male and single. Was born and brought up in the Middle East and then moved to India - where I've spent most of my adult life. I have travelled quite a bit and am well accustomed to the fact that people and cultures are different.

I am quiet, tidy, clean and respectful of others' space and privacy, but also always up for a chat, a laugh or a meal together.

Never been a party person, do not drink or smoke and like waking up early.

I like going for easy long walks and try to hit the gym regularly.

What I am looking for

A private room, for a minimum of 6 months stay, with the possibility of extension.
A simple kitchen would be nice. Not much of a cook although I love the magic of air fryers - which has been my primary tool of destruction in the kitchen.

Employment:

I work remotely as a consulting engineer for clients outside Australia.
On the weekends, I teach software development (online) for a school in Sri Lanka.

However, once I get to Darwin, I intend on looking for other work opportunities to fully fill up my work week.

Health:
----------
Except for being asthmatic and allergic to dust, I have no health ailments or disabilities.

Summary
--------------
I am easy to be with, quiet, respectful and can afford to pay the rent and bills.
And I am looking for a private room.
