Hi! We're Shelly and Caitlin, and we're looking for a third person to team up with and rent a place together around Toowoomba. We're hoping to find the right person first, with the aim of moving somewhere around October or November, so there's no rush.
Shelly works as a disability support worker and Caitlin works in childcare, so we both work a lot and appreciate coming home to a relaxed, drama-free environment. We're pretty easygoing people who enjoy our downtime, and we don't expect everyone to be social all the time. Whether you like to chat over dinner or just head to your room after work, that's completely okay with us.
Caitlin has two friendly German Shepherds who are part of the family, so we're looking for someone who's comfortable living with dogs. They're inside and outside dogs, and you'll definitely get to meet them before any decisions are made.
We're hoping to rent a place around the $600–650 per week mark, so we'd ideally be looking for someone who's comfortable contributing around $200–250 per week in rent, plus their share of household bills.
One thing that's important to us is setting up a shared household account where rent, utilities and other shared expenses come from. We'd also like everyone to contribute a small amount each week towards a household emergency fund, just so there's a buffer if unexpected expenses ever come up. We think it makes life a little less stressful for everyone.
Between us we've already got most of the larger household items sorted, including a washing machine, dryer, fridge, couch and plenty of other household essentials, so you'll most likely only need to bring your own bedroom furniture and personal belongings.
We're after someone who's employed, reliable, communicates openly, pays bills on time, and cleans up after themselves. We like a clean and tidy home, but we're not aiming for a display home—just a comfortable place where everyone respects each other and shares the load.
We're hoping to create a relaxed home where everyone feels comfortable. We enjoy things like the occasional Sunday roast, movie nights, having friends or family over for a BBQ every now and then, and we both love going camping. If you'd ever like to join us, you're more than welcome, but there's never any expectation to. We also completely respect people who enjoy their own space and downtime.
Ideally we'd love to find someone looking for a longer-term home if we all get along. We'd rather take our time finding the right person than rush into filling a room.
If you're kind, respectful, communicate well, and are looking for a place that actually feels like home, we'd love to hear from you.
