Hi, I’m Sophie,
I'm looking for a share house to move into in late Jan.
I'm starting a new chapter to explore living in community after being a home owner for the past seven years and becoming tired of living alone. I believe in bringing back communal ways of living as a solution to the problems we face such as overconsumption, ecological degradation, loneliness, financial stress etc.
My longer term goal is to move to an intentional community in Victoria, however, in the meantime I'm looking for a share house in Adelaide with people who enjoy connecting with others and creating a warm, friendly home.
I'm 45, single and don't have kids. I do have an indoor/outdoor cat called Biscuit who travels with me. She's 13, quiet, and spends most of the day sleeping my room.
I’m a sensitive soul who likes a balance of social connection and down time. I've been on a healing journey the last few years that has shifted my priorities so that now life is about simplicity, slowing down, and enjoying the small things. Health is important to me and I take time to nourish myself with healthy food, nature, movement and positive relationships. I like to live in a low tox environment and prefer using natural products around the house.
I like spaces that are warm and reflect the people living in them, preferring older houses to the modern grey/white builds. I also like to live in places with a garden and spaces outside to enjoy trees and sky. I take care of my space and keep it fairly clean and tidy without being obsessive.
In my spare time, I get out into nature, go for walks, visit cafes and markets, catch up with friends, read, watch the occasional movie or show, play board games, go to the theatre or art gallery. I’m interested in history, culture, psychology, and spirituality. Spirituality is an important part of my life but not something I impose on others. I’d like to make more time to do creative projects in 2026 and perhaps take up salsa.
I’ve lived in a variety of share houses over my life here in Adelaide as well as London and Melbourne. I’m looking to live with others who are kind, respectful, and responsible, and who openly communicate about issues that come up.
If you’ve read this far and think we could be a good fit, I’d love to hear from you.
