Jackie and Daniel

Hello! We’re Dan and Jackie and we are returning to Western Australia after a stint of nomadic house and pet sitting in Central and Northern QLD.

Dan is a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, working in mining between a 2:1 and 1:1 roster. Jackie is a Residential Youth Worker who works a lot of shift work and on-call crisis intervention. After returning to WA, Jackie will likely slip back into Youth Work for a while as she sorts the formalities and clearances needed to move into the mining industry as well. The plan is to line up being on the the same rotation so ideally, we will be out of the house more than 50% of the time.

We are both WA born, Jackie spent the past 15 years living around Rockingham Beach, Safety Bay, and Shoalwater, while Dan grew up in Ellenbrook. Before heading East, Jackie hosted many travellers and kite surfers in her Shoalwater home and we’ve continued to share space with various hosts during our time in QLD. We enjoy outdoor adventures, weekends away, sleeping outside, deep chats and LOVE live music and events.
We come with a very cool and totally well-mannered Whippet named Gretel. She’s almost 6 years old, social, emotionally attuned and knows some cool commands. She’s well travelled and quite accustomed to living in transit / sharing space with other pets. We’re hoping to find a place where Gretty is Welcome with a secure yard and possibly even another furry friend to lounge and play with. Through Gretty has excellent stamina, she seems to think she’s a house-cat most of the time.

We’re flexible and open-minded about arrangements for Gretty when we both begin FIFO work — whether that’s finding alternative accommodation for her or coming to a mutual care arrangement that suits everyone. If you were FIFO wit a Furry family member too, perhaps we could help each other out?
