We are a couple from Switzerland currently spending a year in Australia on a working holiday. We have just spent the past 3.5 months in Sydney, where we both worked in hospitality for around 3 months. Lara has a background in hospitality as well as marketing and communications, and Tim is a trained chef.
After finishing our East Coast road trip, we are planning to relocate to the Cairns region in June. There, we are hoping to settle for a while, find a home, and complete our 88 days (ideally in hospitality). We are currently looking for either a room in a shared house or our own apartment around Cairns, preferably close to the beach or coastal areas.
A clean and respectful living environment is very important to both of us. We are easygoing, open-minded, and get along well with different kinds of people. Lara has previously lived in a shared apartment with three other people in an international environment, where English was the main language. Additionally, during our time in Sydney, we also lived in a flatshare, which makes us both very comfortable and experienced with shared living.
We enjoy being active by going to the gym, running (we have both completed half marathons), hiking, and spending time outdoors. In our free time, we love cooking, playing chess, reading, going out for coffee and occasionally playing card or board games. We also enjoy socialising with housemates but equally appreciate our own quiet time.
