My mother loved animals, and my father loved outdoor adventures. I inherited these values.
I have worked as an environmental engineer, owner of a small gold mine, and a consultant in the areas of river and wetland protection. I spent nearly a decade on my yacht in the South Pacific. I have been offered temporary work (standard office hours) with the NT Department of Lands, Planning and Environment, based in Parap Road. I start work mid-to-late January, for four months. Ideally, I would like to find share accommodation within walking distance of the office - but I recognise this might be too much to ask. My home base is in Hobart, Tasmania. I hope to be able to join a gym, and visit a swimming pool. I am a non-smoker and non-drinker. My girlfriend (we don't live together) says I have a quiet sense of humour. She's definitely right about the "quiet" part. I have a website devoted to environmental issues and a youtube channel with a variety of stuff on it (the only popular videos are about fixing various car problems). I was born just after the second world war, but don't let that put you off... as a popular T-shirt slogan says: "some parts are still in working order". My only attempt at a humorous video is called "Not funny Jon". If you want the link, just ask.
