Hi! I’m moving to Bendigo to start at La Trobe Uni and am currently looking for a room to rent.

I’m clean, respectful, and independent, and I value clear boundaries and a stable living environment. I sometimes work from home, so good sound insulation and a generally calm household are important for me. I’m looking for something longer-term.

Right now Im in Sydney, so I would prefer an online inspection via video call or you can send videos of the house.

Before arranging an inspection, I have a short checklist below to make sure we’re a good fit on both sides.

1) Location & room
• Is the room private?
• Does the room have solid walls / good sound insulation? (I sometimes work from home and need this)
• How close is the place to La Trobe Bendigo or public transport?

2) Household environment
• How many people live in the house?
• The average age demographic (20s-30s)
• Are they studying or working

3) Agreement & payments (non-negotiable for me)
• What type of agreement is used? (Victorian residential tenancy agreement or Flatmates agreement)
• Will the bond be lodged with the Victorian Residential Tenancies Bond Authority (RTBA), with confirmation provided?
• Can rent and bond be paid via bank transfer?

4) Practical details
• Is the room furnished?
• Preferred lease length / is long-term okay?
• Expected move-in date? (Feb-March)

5) Visitors
• Would occasional visits from my boyfriend (around once every 1–2 months, quiet and respectful) be okay?
