Looking for the right person to build a comfortable home together

Hello,

My name is Tony, and I’m a 51-year-old male looking for a reliable, respectful and financially responsible person to team up with to find a rental home in the Melton area, ideally Kurunjang.

I’m not simply looking for someone to split the rent with. I’d like to find the right person to share a home with, where we can both feel comfortable, have our own space and enjoy a peaceful and respectful living environment.

I’m a proud dad to two young boys, who are a very important part of my life. I see them 2–3 times a week, and sometimes they stay overnight, so I’m looking for a home that is safe, comfortable, welcoming and family-friendly when they are visiting.

Outside of that, I enjoy a relatively quiet lifestyle and appreciate having a clean, tidy and well-maintained home.

What I’m Looking For

Ideally, I’m looking for:

A rental property in Kurunjang, although I’m open to suitable properties elsewhere in the Melton area.
My share of the rent to be approximately $250–$300 per week.
Household expenses such as electricity, gas, water and internet to be discussed and agreed upon between us.
A strictly non-smoking home.
Two bedrooms for my own use.
A double garage.
Ideally, separate bathrooms, or a bathroom arrangement that provides both of us with a good level of privacy.
A property where we can both be named on the rental lease.
The bond to be shared equally, with each person responsible for their own half.
A genuine shared tenancy, rather than simply having someone move into an existing home.

I’m also happy to furnish the shared areas, including the lounge, dining room and kitchen, along with other household essentials.

If you already have furniture you would like to contribute, that's absolutely fine too. We can simply discuss what works best for both of us.

A Little About Me

I’m a genuine, easy-going and down-to-earth guy who believes that honesty, respect, good communication and a good sense of humour go a long way.

I don’t smoke or drink, and I consider myself an honest, considerate and respectful person. I take pride in keeping my home clean, tidy and well looked after.

I’m also a proud dad to two young boys. They certainly keep me busy and occasionally test my patience — but I wouldn’t have it any other way! 😂

I’m a Melbourne Victory supporter and also a Swans supporter. I still struggle with using the word “Sydney” though! Maybe after all these years I need to get over the fact they moved in 1984 and just bite the bullet! 😂

So, if you support the Victory or the Swans too, we’ve already got something to talk about.

If you support another team… well, I’m sure we can work through our differences! 😂

I enjoy soccer, documentaries, puzzles, brain teasers, swimming and sport. I used to work out regularly, but these days I probably look more like the “before” picture at the gym! 😂

I’m trying to become more active again, and I enjoy getting out, exploring interesting places, having a good conversation and enjoying the simple things in life.

What I’m Hoping For

I believe a successful shared home comes down to mutual respect, trust, communication, privacy and consideration for each other.

I’m looking for someone who:

Is reliable and financially responsible.
Is clean and respectful of shared areas.
Is honest, considerate and easy-going.
Is looking for a stable, long-term living arrangement.
Is non-smoking.
Respects privacy and personal boundaries.
Values a peaceful and drama-free home. I can deal with kids but if its crazy ex's sorry not up for that.
Is comfortable with my children visiting and occasionally staying overnight.

I’m not expecting us to become best friends or spend every waking moment together. I think it’s perfectly healthy for both people to have their own lives and personal space.

At the same time, if you enjoy having the occasional chat, watching a movie, playing a board game, having a cuppa or simply having a laugh together, I’d be more than happy with that too.

The most important thing is that we can both feel at home without feeling like we are constantly in each other’s space.

A Peaceful Home

I’m looking for someone who has a stable personal situation and wants to come home to a peaceful, comfortable and respectful environment.

I’m not interested in ongoing conflict, excessive drama or relationship issues spilling over into the household. Everyone has a past and everyone has their own challenges, but I believe home should be somewhere you can switch off, relax and feel safe.

I want us both to be able to close the front door at the end of the day and feel that we're home.

Age, gender, nationality and religion are not important to me.

I believe everyone deserves to be treated with respect and as an equal.

What matters most is finding someone with similar values, a positive attitude, good communication and a genuine desire to create a comfortable shared home.
