Hi, I’m Tom.

I’ve recently moved to Adelaide to study a Master of Data Science, focusing on AI and machine learning; bit a career shift following 20 years working in property and development across Australia; mostly in corporate for groups like Lendlease, Stockland, also worked on Government Projects *(Policy/Defence), and for Private Wealth Individuals on and off like Bob Ell at Leda Holdings etc. Hold a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance), Baptist University, Hong Kong; and Master of Construction Practice, from Bond University. Self-taught in data over 20+ years and been deep building and pushing Ai models for about 3 or 4 years now.

Grew up in Castlemaine, Victoria; and lived in Melbourne, Hong Kong, Gold Coast, Darwin, and Sydney thereafter; don't have many friends here in Adelaide; which is kind of nice, and no partner or intend on any commitments in life atm; mostly you would have place to yourself.

I’m looking for a room for 6-12 months; ideally within walking distance of Adelaide University’s East campus. I’d love to share with easy-going professionals, postgraduate students or entrepreneurs, particularly anyone interested in technology, business or creative projects.

Alongside studying, I’m developing a couple of ventures and usually travel interstate for around a week each month. My work sometimes involves late nights and early mornings to align with US hours, so a household comfortable with different schedules would suit me well. I often work from the university library, am exploring coworking spaces, perhaps small office in the future.

I don’t drink or use drugs. I occasionally smoke socially but am happy to keep that away from the property. I enjoy tennis, running and the gym, and appreciate a relaxed home with good conversation, a laugh and respect for everyone’s space.

A 24/7 gym in building, or bookable workspace would be a bonus; I’m happy contributing to shared essentials; will likely buy a Vitamix as wish to start working getting fit; also have a lot of artwork from old office *(Sold everything else before travelling); not really interested in setting up whole place again, as likely heading o/s in future to either Singapore, Ireland or the United States; feel data intelligence and Ai space will be very competitive and Australia unfortunately might not be the best place to build the future.
