My name is James and I have a spare room in my apartment in Turner. I live in a really leafy street that is only 10 minutes walk from the city centre. The building is only about 15 years old and there are no major problems such as rising damp or dodgy electrical wiring. Rent is $220 a week and with that comes unlimited internet and Netflix. The flat is newly renovated in 2017. Photos are from before we moved our things in so I will endeavour to update ASAP. It's pretty cosy with an open plan living/eating area and a small balcony. It has a washing machine, dryer and dishwasher (yes!). Light, bright and airy. My housemate is moving out and flexible with leaving her furniture - so no need to bring a bed, chest of drawers, couches or other large pieces if you don't want to. The apartment's got A/C and heater for those stinking Canberra summers and cold winters, but being on the first floor and having tiles it maintains temperature nicely. Rent is $1086.30 a month. We are currently on a month-to-month but when we find someone signing onto a new long-term lease. Bills are internet ($35 each a month) and electricity (usually around $150-250 a quarter). One car spot which I've been sharing with my housemate but on-street parking about 30-50m from the property and never had an issue getting a spot.
