This sitting area is the communal hub of the home as it is at the end of the hallway and next to both the kitchen and bathroom! It is a high traffic zone! Totally unpretentious, home-y, cozy, clean old school family cottage, like a "Nanna-hobbit" place with a totally lived-in look!!!. Gas cooking and gas instant HWS. Inside toilet and a bathroom which doubles as the laundry. The shower is over the bath. As it is a family-style home, the kitchen has appliances, pots/pans, cutlery, mugs, glasses and plates. Vacuum, dusters, brooms, ironing board/iron, too. Everything! Accessible on respectful 'shared use' basis.. Garden is a TINY shady-green urban jungle wilderness, attracting birds and critters (we always leave a dish of water they can access). NOT big enough for entertaining, there is a compost bin, a few trees, some potted plants, a tiny paved area and good sized washline for drying laundry. We keep the garden fairly 'natural', so the visiting wildlife & birds hang around or often run over the roof at night, raid the compost and potplants, plus occasionally may stare at us through the windows! (Therefore, its a 'no pet' house...)

I'm moving to Tasmania for a couple of months and am looking for someone to take my room while I'm away! The room will be free from 1st August to 10th November, but I'm happy to be flexible with dates. You'll be living in my room and sharing the house with Helen (27), who works in health insurance, and her tiny old dog, Erma (13), who mostly sleeps on the couch and also likes bouncing around and going for coffee and neighbourhood sniffs. The house is a two-bedroom terrace with a little backyard with a washing line, grass area, shed and outdoor second bathroom and pots of veggies. I've got two flowerbeds out the front too, and they'll be coming into bloom while you're staying there! It’s basically across the road from Gogh’s Paddock, five minutes walk (max) from Richmond station (4 minute train into the city)/the 70 tram line, 10 minutes walk to the supermarket, with a couple of great cafes only a block away and Swan Street with tonnes of bars and pubs and restaurants just around the corner. The Tan and the Botanic Gardens are just across the Yarra River - about 8 minutes walk. The MCG is 10-15 minutes walk away. Despite all that it’s on a tiny, quiet, tree-lined street with super quiet neighbours. We’ve got a big ole TV with Netflix and Stan, we've got plants up to our ears and the kitchen is fitted with a gas oven/stove and microwave, and has all the crockery/pans/cutlery/glassware you'll need. The room will come fully furnished with a wardrobe, bookshelf, drawers, queen sized bed with drawers underneath and desk, but it doesn't feel too crowded. It's really quiet and is a super calm place to come home to. The window is huge, looks out into the garden and gets the morning sun which is ace, but if you want a sleep in it does have a good blind as well. Currently Helen holds the parking permit, but we can get a visitor's permit for your car if you have one - that's what I've been using for mine. Rent is $240/month including all bills except internet, which is about $30 a month 😊

We have a little courtyard thats often utilised for family dinners and barbecues in the warmer months. YOU! We are after a super respectful, tidy angel who is either between rentals or here on a work basis (no backpackers sorry!). the house is very care free and relaxed so if your as chilled out as us you’ll be a great fit. As a household we are all quite fit and healthy so ideally someone who lives the same lifestyle would be ace.
