It's a lovely house, with an open plan kitchen/ living area and courtyard out the back - great for afternoon beers! The free room is upstairs with a nice view, air con/heating and built in wardrobe. Perfect location with cafes, pubs and Piedimontes just around the corner.
Super close to the CBD, and even closer to food/drink/culture havens Brunswick Street and Smith Street. From the bedroom window (and from one of the flat's two balconies) you can see the beautiful Melbourne skyline. We are around the corner from Edinburgh Gardens, and super close to a wide range of public transport. The apartment is modern, clean, and fully furnished with all amenities (inc. a Netflix account, obviously 🙌). The two bedrooms are at opposite ends of the flat, so it's quite private, however the communal space is super welcoming and conducive to good chats over a cup of tea. There are two cats in the flat, but they are strictly indoor and very clean. If you're allergic, however, you will struggle, as the flat is relatively small, and cat hair is hard to escape! I'm strict about no smoking and no drugs in the house. I don't judge what you choose to do in your own time, but it's a definite dealbreaker for me.

Your bedroom won't come furnished, but the rest of the house is! (Also totally happy for you to bring whatever furniture you like, and we will make room for it and can rearrange the place so it feels like home to you). It's a beautiful, recently renovated and light-filled apartment that stays nice and cool in summer! Everything is pretty straight-forward - large living/dining room, good-sized kitchen and bathroom, shared laundry, plenty of places to secure a bike, and on-street parking (there is a car space but my car uses it. We could chat about this if you need it). We're lucky to live in an awesome location - down the hill you have Westgarth, with the beautiful Palace cinema, restaurants and cafes and an a-maz-ing gelato shop (Seriously. Best gelato in Melbourne. Even better than Messina). In the other direction is High St in all its glory - Northcote Town Hall, Northcote Social Club, heaps of pubs and bars with live music, restaurants, groceries, quirky shops, etc. The 86 tram is right on our doorstep and Merri Station is a 5min walk. We also have an amazing view of the city from our driveway, so the New Years Eve fireworks are pretty special from here! About me: I am a writer and theatre-maker, and next year will be returning to study my honours. I'm a classic introvert, and am usually at my happiest reading or writing in my bedroom. I am most comfortable with housemates who won't be offended if I run off to my room for hours on end. Having said that, I also really enjoy social gatherings or sitting in front of a film and will often be out and about with my friends on weekends and weeknights. I have a boyfriend who stays over a couple of nights a week; on the upside I stay at his a couple of nights a week, so you'd get the house to yourself a bit! I love cooking, and will likely thrust baked goods upon you on a pretty regular basis. I'm a really relaxed housemate with a great sense of humour, and I'm really open to discussions about how everything runs in the house. Three-storey townhouse located on Brunswick Road. The house is a 5 minute walk to either the 1 and 8 trams on Lygon Street or the 96 on Nicholson Street, which makes getting in and out of the city really easy. Bus stops for the 504 and the 250 are equally as close which makes getting to Moonee Ponds/Clifton Hill and La Trobe Uni respectively quite convenient. The property is just around the corner from the Lygon St strip of shops in Brunswick which has seen a ton of good bars and restaurants open up as the area gets more popular. As the Brunswick stereotype goes, there's also loads of good cafes located nearby. The room itself will not be furnished (negotiable), but the entire living room will be. House has a bbq as well for those summer time needs. The house is managed personally by the landlord which we have found extremely helpful, with faults in the house fixed quickly once notified. Shared spaces are kept clean and tidy. The room itself is on the bottom floor with it's own bathroom and shower. This is a really great place in the heart of Fitzroy, its smack between Brunswick and Smith Streets and comes with a super nice and open kitchen living area with dishwasher, couch dining table and plenty of indoor plants and a big paved courtyard with fairy lights and a most splendid tree that provides ample shade from summer sun. The room itself is medium sized and comes with a desk and quality double bed. The room is clean if not a bit busy due to my tools and art bits and pieces which are stored neatly on a shelving rack.
