Hello everyone :) I am departing my beautiful furnished (or unfurnished, if necessary) room in my 3-bedroom apartment in the heart of Fitzroy North (682 Nicholson Street), and am looking for a lovely new person to share the house with one housemate, Madeleine. The apartment is a bright, double-storey place, huge living area, floorboards throughout, and aircon in the main living area (as well as in your own room). There is a somewhat under-attended balcony garden, looking over the courtyard and swimming pool. The house has all the typical fixtures - washer, dryer, dishwasher, etc, but no microwave. The lounge is a TV-free zone, but you are of course welcome to get one for your room (which has a TV aerial port, as well as a preexisting wall-mount setup.) You will be taking over my room, a large bedroom which occupies the upstairs level of the apartment. It has a King size bed and side tables, built in wardrobes, and its own ensuite. It also has split system aircon and heating, as well as a nobo heater. Downstairs there are 2 bedrooms, the living area, the bathroom and the kitchen. One of the bedrooms will remain empty. The other is occupied by my housemate Madeleine, an early 40s public servant. Madeleine also has a lovely 16yo black and white cat, Smudge, who is very gentle and old lady like, and loves a good tummy rub. The photos were taken a while back and furniture has been rearranged a bit, but they give you the basic picture. Re: car parking, the apartment has both an undercover spot and a parking permit for the street. Madeleine will use the undercover spot, leaving you with the permit. The lease term is negotiable. Location location location! This beautiful semi detached terrace is a stones throw from St Georges Rd. The street is a dead end into St Georges Rd, so is free from traffic but still has pedestrian access. From the front yard you can see the Pinnacle pub, the Parkview, two 24hr petrol stations and even a small nursery. We are within 3 mins walk from Piedimontes supermarket, a post office, restaurants, cafes, bars, dry-cleaner, library.. you name it! The number 11 tram stop on the corner of Scotchmer St is basically less than a minute walk away. What can I say.. its perfect! We have a fairly large bedroom (about 3.5m x 4m) with a built-in robe available to rent from Monday 6 February in our friendly 4 BR sharehouse in Westgarth (Northcote). After 5+ years of living in the house, our departing housemate has just completed her second Masters (!!) and finally has time to travel before she heads to Canada to work for a while. The available bedroom is unfurnished and is situated at the rear of the upper level, overlooking the backyard (which includes a stunning Hill’s hoist clothesline). It's available from Monday 6 February. House-wise we have most things... except Holly will be taking the second fridge, one couch, TV and washing machine - so we’re in the process of working out who/what/how/if these will be replaced. Rent: $585* per calendar month (due on the 4th) Bond: $625 Other costs: - Fortnightly cleaners @ $45 each per month - Wireless internet @ $20 each per month - Utilities – water, gas and electricity – billed monthly or bi-monthly *Total cost for house per month is $2,500. The front rooms are slightly more as they are a bit bigger and have balcony access. Bond is split evenly between the four tenants - not 4 weeks' rent as stated above - there was no suitable option!! It's furnished (except for the vacant bedroom) but if you have furniture too i'm sure we can fit it in. We're close by to the Westgarth Village, the tram is 30 seconds walk away, train is 8 min walk, Merri Creek trail is around the corner, not to mention the Terminus Hotel, Mixed Business Cafe and all the other great things close by in the Clifton Hill & Westgarth Villages. We're open to couples or people on their own. Rent for one person is $1250, rent for a couple is $1400. Move in dates are flexible - so just let us know what you prefer. The place is a light-filled 3-storey, 2 bdrm, 1 bathroom neat and tidy townhouse, you'll have a choice between a room with a balcony or a room with direct access to the bathroom (cat in bedroom photo won't be living here...) The complex is nice and quiet- people respect each other's privacy but are quite a young crew, so say hi to each other and store bikes everywhere in the garage. Here's the good bit- we're not usually here between Friday-Monday (we're making a part-time tree change!) so you'll virtually have the place to yourself. We'll usually only sleep here Mon, Tue, Wed nights. So yeah, you're going to have the place to yourself for four nights a week. We're located right behind the Fitzroy pools, across the street from a lil park. 2 minute walk to Brunswick street and the 11 tram. 5 minute walk from Smith street and the 86 tram. The rent is $1200 per month ($600 per person) plus bills Available from the 10th of Feb Our place is a little old and rundown but still works. We have a back yard with veggie patch space, a chill communal living room space for hang times, a washer and dryer, a black cat named Eevee and a big beautiful pooch named Major.

The house sits between two great pubs (The Gem and The Fox) and is 5 minutes walk to Smith Street and 15 to Brunswick Street. Lots of plants, a massive back yard (complete with sofas, BBQ and a ping pong table) and a very well equipped kitchen. The room itself is a good size with wooden floors and a built in wardrobe. Sharing with 2 others initially, but Frances (25 female wedding singer/ part time admin worker - who’s family own the property) will be in Europe from May - September), and will lock up her things in her room so will only be sharing with one other for large part of the year. Bills split 3 ways when 3 people living in house, and 2 ways when only 2 people living in house. Big backyard with security roller door and pallet day beds, copious amount of mint and rosemary and other fun garden stuff. Probably prefer to live with guys again, but this being said I’m not totally set on that, as I’ve had amazing girls as housemates before! Between the ages of 24-34, professional, spot on about paying rent/bills on time, respectful and considerate, tidy and fair. My home is a great 70s style apartment that I have furnished with a bit of old and new furniture mixed in with a bunch of pot plants - going for a clean modernist feel, not too cluttered. It was freshly painted before I moved in so it has nice white walls throughout. The place is in a great spot on a quiet suburban street but only a couple of minutes walk to Lygon and Nicholson Street restaurants, cafes, shops and trams, plus it is close the the Capital City bike trail and Merri Creek and the top end of the Canning and Rathdowne Street bike lanes. Our large 2 story house is conveniently located between Brunswick Street & Nicholson Street. The lounge room, kitchen and patio are downstairs. The upstairs bathroom has 2 sinks, a spa bath and shower. The 3 bedrooms are also upstairs. Every room in the house has built in hydronic heating which keeps us very warm in winter! Luckily, we are also far enough from Brunswick and Nicholson street that the house is very quiet. The 96 and 11 trams are only a couple of minutes walk from our doorstep.
Our apartment on Nicholsen Street is situated in a secure apartment complex which is close to the city. It lies in between Lygon Street and Brunswick Street so there is plenty of access to foods, gyms, shops etc. It is only a 15 minute walk into the CBD. The walk through the Carlton Gardens is lovely. Or if in a hurry, there is a 96 tram running right out the front of our apartment complex that runs straight through to Bourke Street. The apartment has a spacious kitchen and lounge areas. Two bedrooms and one bathroom with a bath and shower. The apartment is all furnished excluding the bedroom (that you will take over). We have an air conditioner/heater in the lounge and a washing machine in a small area opposite the kitchen. This apartment is ideal for students at the University of Melbourne or RMIT University. Rent is $830 a month. ($1651 together) Water, electricity and Internet aren't included in the rent however are only usually $30 each per bill.
