Hi. Looking for a new housemate for my 2 room apartment. Move in date ideally between 24th - 30th November. 545 Nicholson Street in Carlton North, it's literally 30m from the 96 tram. 3 min walk to Rathedown village, 3 min to eddy gardens. 10 min to Brunswick st, 30 min walk to the middle of the CBD. The rooms are medium sized, shared bathroom, shared loungeroom/kitchen, with a lil' balcony. It's not massive, but its modern and gets some sweet sun. I like to keep it fairly neat and tidy but I'm by no means crazy about it. The house hosts afew lil' parties every now and then, but nothing super crazy or frequent. There's also a car space and garage, negotiable on whether you want that or the street parking.
Before I get into all the good stuff I'd like to point out that the room is for short term stay only, I (Tyler, the normal occupant) will be staying in Sydney for the Christmas period and will be returning the first week of February (and thus will require you to be moved out by that time, sorry!) all of my belongings will be removed but the room will be fully furnished. So now about the apartment. Northcote is an amazing area to live in, with local shops, cafe's, parks, a movie theatre, small bars, live music venues and a shopping centre all with 10 minutes walking distance it is the most convenient place I have ever lived. I have a 20-minute ride to university every day and pick up whatever shopping I need on the way home riding past the Fitzroy shops. The apartment itself is small but freshly furnished and very nicely decorated (thanks to your new housemate Velichka or "V" as she prefers), it has a very natural feel due to the sunlight and houseplants scattered around. The building is close to 3 different train stations on two different lines which can have you at Flinders station (CBD) in under 20 minutes. There is also a tram line (the 86) right in front of the building too! In terms of amenities -the internet is quite fast and reliable -the apartment has washing and drying machines but also a balcony for air drying -due to it being a fairly new apartment we have no problems with water pressure or heating In terms of the room -It gets quite a lot of sunlight through the day which is nice -It comes fully furnished with desk, book cupboard, built in wardrobe, bed & bedside tables and there is also a coffee table thing that I normally put my TV on (for gaming). The TV will also be left in the room (please don't break it!) V and I normally keep a pretty tidy house in terms of common areas (lounge room, kitchen & bathroom) so it would be good if you upheld that in my absence.

Right near the train station and the Collingwood Leisure Centre, there are plenty of shops within walking distance, or by a short ride on the train. Due to the public transport in the area it is easy to get to the City, Fairfeild, Smith St, and Victoria St. There is no off-street parking, but if you have a car you can get a parking permit. Bills are Electricity, Gas, Water, and Cable Internet. We split them evenly so it works out pretty cheap. We also have Netflix if you wanted to chip in for that too. The internet is Cable internet and hasn't let us down (yet!) Rent is $280/week + bills (Electricity/Gas/Water/Internet) We're looking for someone long term.

The house is in a great spot but there are a couple of sizable cracks in the walls (we don't really mind), as seen in the photos, and some water damage in one corner of the living room - the landlords have promised to fix this within a month. The apartment is located in the heart of Carlton North in a secure apartment block. It's a 5 minute max walk to the 1-6 trams (20 mins to city) and close to the 96 trams on Nicholson St as well. As the other apartments are owned by older couples and families, this isn't a party house as noise levels need to be kept down late at night and early in the mornings.
