I am currently managing this property on behalf of my wonderful friend Matt, and we are looking for new flat mates to welcome into the house! Moving in with strangers can be a little daunting, so here is a little bit.. ABOUT US :) (the manager, Emma, and landlord, Matt.) Matt and I first met in 2013 when we were volunteering in Ghana, Africa. I was working in the orphanage and Matt was teaching in a local impoverished primary school. From there, we became great friends and always kept in touch despite being from opposite sides of the world (I, Scotland. He, Australia). We met up again in summer 2014 when I was working in a camp in West Virginia and Matt was travelling around the USA. Then, after graduating in June 2016, I commenced my gap year which took me over to Australia, and I now I am managing this property! WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? We are looking for mature, responsible, full-time employed individuals between 25-35, either males or females, and couples are welcome also. Our house is pretty big (5 bedroomed, 3 bath, huge living/ kitchen area with separate living room) and is very spacious, hence why we are renting out the spare rooms! We have 3 large double bedrooms, and a smaller single bedroom - all the details can be seen below. All of the rooms are spacious, and can comfortably fit couples, or single individuals. Both couples, and single people are both very welcome. All the furniture in the room can be rearranged to your preference when you arrive, so you can really make it your home! Ideally, you will have a car (for ease of transport for themselves due to location, see below). Smoking and drugs are also not tolerated or welcomed, as we have a non-smoking / drug house mates currently. So we want to keep the peace! Hope you understand! Bedroom 1: “Mr. Men” AVAILABLE This room is the only 'boyish room', (as I haven't had a chance to paint it!) with blue walls and Mr. Men curtains. It is the largest of the 3 rooms, located at the very back of the house, ideal for privacy. This room comes with a single bed (2 single beds can be arranged) and chest of drawers, and you will have to share a bathroom / separate toilet room with bedroom 3. You are welcome to bring your own bed and furniture to this room as there is plenty of space! We can arrange all of those details later on. Cost for this room SINGLE PERSON: $140.00 per week COUPLES: $230.00 per week. (includes bills, no internet, but internet can be arranged for an additional $25 per month) Bedroom 2: “I have a Dream”. TAKEN (by a full-time employed, lovely 26 year old guy) Inspired by Disney’s, ‘Tangled’, I decide to paint the romantic ‘lantern release’ over the castle theme on the wall, so sorry again boys, this room is a bit girly too! Although, our last tenant was a boy in this room haha, so it can't be too 'girly'! It is one of the smaller rooms off the kitchen-living area, but it is extremely cute and cosy. It is currently set for a couple, with 2 single beds pushed together, but we can separate the beds for you also. This room has a built in wardrobe, and comes with a bed, bedside lamp and bedside table. The bathroom for this room is down the hallway, with a separate toilet and shower room, which you will have to share with 2 of our current housemates (a male and female). Cost for this room SINGLE PERSON: $135.00 per week COUPLES: $230.00 per week. (includes bills, no internet. Internet can be arranged for $25 per month) Bedroom 3: “Everest” (TAKEN - by a awesome female German backpacker, 28 years old) I decorated this room with my bucket list goal in mind (to climb to base camp everest) so it is my favourite room in the house! The room is for a single occupant and comes with everything in the picture - full chest of funky coloured drawers (also decorated out by me), the single bed (all bedding, sheets ect included), bedside lamp and there is a built in wardrobe. Although this room is on the smaller side, I feel it has the most character and is super cute and cosy. This room also comes with a shared bathroom, and separate toilet which you will have to share with 2 other house mates (currently 2 males). We are looking for someone full-time employed between the ages of 25-30, ideally with a car. Cost for this room SINGLE PERSON $125.00 per week (includes bills, no internet) Bedroom 4: “Adventure is out there” (TAKEN by a lovely 29 year old guy.) Matt let me have complete creative freedom with this room, so as a major Disney fan, I painted a quote from Pixar’s ‘Up’ on the pink wall (sorry boys!). This room was originally my room and it is very large. We have 2 single beds in there currently (you can pull them together for a couple / take one bed out for single person. We’ll make arrangements accordingly). This room has a full length mirror, walk in wardrobe and your own en-suite bathroom. I can vouch for this room as it has a soft spot in my heart! Cost for this room SINGLE PERSON $150.00 per week COUPLES: $260.00 per week. (includes bills, no internet) In total, we have 4 rooms for rent and are looking to fill our last room. OUR LOCATION Obviously, this is a very important one as this is a big decider when looking for somewhere to live. Our location is quiet but lovely, and we are nestled in a very safe, cosy area of Dandenong North. If you have a car, that would be ideal for you to get around as we are a wee bit out the way - but don’t panic if you don’t. There are busses and there is always Uber as an option to take you to the train. From our house, we are a 10 minute drive to the train station, where it takes 40 minutes to get into Flinders Street, the heart of Melbourne city. We are roughly about half an hours drive to St Kilda, the thriving beach side backpacker hotspot, and there are beaches and small towns (Sandringham, moridalloc beach) all within 25 minutes drive. Despite being a little bit out of the city, it is actually nice to live in a relaxed community street knowing that the hustle and bustle city is a short drive, or train journey away! MINIMUM LENGHT OF STAY. Our minimum length of stay required is 3 months, although, we are looking for someone long term.
