This is a good place for female post-graduate students to study without the interruption of those who like to rage. It is in easy distance of the universities (Melbourne and RMIT) to cycle or to catch the tram, bus or even the train if you would like to walk about 1km each way. It is in Zone 1. It is a very safe area as most houses are occupied by families and also quite a few students can be seen coming and going. The main rule for this abode is do not burn it down, so no naked flames, please. The next rule is respect your flatmates so keep the noise down so they can sleep and study when it suits them best. The almost last rule is work in with your flatmates with the small jobs to keep the place clean and tidy. The last rule is check the rules where you pick up your mail - you will have no trouble agreeing with them. This room is 3.5 by 4.3 metres with an easy to clean fitted wood floor, desk, chair and study lamp, drawers, wardrobe, bedside table and lamp and western divan-style single bed. It also has a small fan heater in case you get cold sitting still at your desk. If you would prefer to sleep on the floor that can be arranged instead. It has a lockable door. The house is two bedroom, with a lounge/kitchen area as shared space and a cute little backyard. Its location is great. It’s a 2 minute walk to Newmarket train station, tram stop, supermarket, cafes, osteo, dr, dentist, …. If you like to eat out there’s Malaysian, Mexican, Vietnamese, Italian, Japanese, … On the weekends there’s a farmers market at a nearby school. There’s also a spare parking permit and it’s normally pretty easy to find a park if you have a car. House is fully equipped except for your huge room (4m by 3.6m). A bed can be provided if needed though. The lounge is setup with comfy chairs and a stereo for relaxing. I enjoy watching the occasional movie and have an iMac I can setup for that when we need.
In a quiet side street but within walking distance to multiple shopping complexes, tram station and tram route. It takes ~20 minutes to get into the city from here (by train). House has thick concrete walls and stays cool in the summer, the bedrooms are not adjacent so you cant really hear the other person at all.
Hello new potential flatmate! I have 2rooms for rent in a huge house in Moonee Ponds. Room 1: it's the master bedroom and which is furnished with a queen good quality bed/mattress, bedside tables, 2 chests of drawers, a bookcase, a chest and 2 clothes racks. Room 2: That's a very spacious room with a queen bed(the one with the blue mattress), 2 bedside tables, a chest of drawers, two double clothes racks and a shoe rack. In both rooms there mirrors. Don't worry if you have your own furniture, we can find a solution. There are blinds and curtains in your room. There is one bathroom to share for those 2bedrooms. There is also a Tv antenna but not a tv. The lounge is furnished with 2x3seater leather very comfy couches, 2xcoffee tables and a Tv unit with a 43" tv, DVD player and speakers. There is a separate dining room with a table and chairs. A separate big kitchen with lots of cupboards , dishwasher,microwave, most of the small kitchen appliances that you might need as well as a big new fridge. In the laundry there is a washing machine, a dryer and cupboards. In the bathroom there is a shower and a separate bath and cupboards. The back yard is also very big and sunny most of the day. There is outdoor furniture there and an inflatable swimming pool under the lemon tree! In the front yard you be creative with your gardening skills if you want to. There is also space in the garage to storage your stuff. You can do whatever you want in your room but you have to be tidy and clean in the common areas. You will find your room steam cleaned and fresh painted. When you move out you have to leave it as you found it. You can have your guests/partner sleepover occasionally. I let the room to only one person for this price. I might consider couples for a short-term accommodation for $400. As for the spot where that house is...it's about 2-3' walk to the tram stop 59 which is on Mt Alexander Road and about 10' to train station Moonee Ponds. Woolworths is 5' away and the shopping centre within walking distance (7-8'). Puckle st with the popular coffee shops and restaurants are a breath away too.
