At the moment I’m selling my furniture but Joelie, my flatmate, will bring hers. Our house is on a leafy street in Travancore. It is about 2 minutes walk from the tram stop, about 8 minutes from the train station, and about a 20-minute bike ride into the CBD. The house itself has three bedrooms, a living area, large garage and an outdoor courtyard area. The room we have for rent is at the back of the house - it has a window that opens onto our backyard which gets great morning sun. It also has huge floor to ceiling built-in wardrobes. This house has excellent access to the local eateries & pubs. 5 minutes walk to new market train station & tram to the city is also a 5 minute walk. Supermarket & shopping centre is next door to the train station and the house is warm, well looked after, modern & has a lovely atmosphere to it. The area has plenty of young professionals, young families and plenty of nature walks around. Not far from the city but away enough to feel like your in a quite, relaxed & trendy neighbourhood. The cafes are also excellent! Its a relaxing quite atmosphere in Flemington :) The room easily fits a queen size bed but comes furnished with a double bed currently. Massive wardrobe and plenty of natural lighting with a fireplace in the room. The house is well insulated but aircon is used on those high temperature days. All new utilities to the house, all you need is yourself & your suitcase! Downstairs is the kitchen with large pantry and dishwasher, dining area, living area with flatscreen tv, laundry with washer and dryer as well as a toilet. There's also a small courtyard out back but doesn't have any outdoor furniture yet. Theres a carspace which can be negotiated. Upstairs is the shared bathroom and the two bedrooms. The room is large roughly 4.3x3.5m with a large built in wardrobe, small private balcony, air con and gets lots of natural light. Its a 1 minute walk to Newmarket Station, Newmarket Plaza and the 57 tram line. 10 minutes into the city by train. 20 minutes by tram. PS: bond is actually 5 weeks rent but 4 weeks was the highest option.
