I chose to live here when moving down to Australia because I wanted to live with other people while still having my own room, being walking distance from Uni Melb and the CBD and a 3-minute walk from Queen Victoria Market and Flagstaff Gardens and last but not least because it's really cheap. The room is fully furnished with a single bed, desk and closet space, and a west-facing window. The window in my room faces west so you get morning light as well as sunsets. I brought a lot of stuff when I moved down here, but found there was enough closet space to house my stuff even flying down here with 50kgs. About the apartment itself: You use a keycard to open the door downstairs, and walk up a flight of stairs to find the outdoor common area we share with the other units. There's laundry machines for 3AUD per wash and 2AUD to use the drier available, or you could hang your clothes on the drying racks outside. In the summer people bring chairs out to sit outside and enjoy the sun. From here you open the door to your unit, taking you into the livingroom/kitchen area. There's a couch and a small TV that isn't used much, but is there if you want to use it. Everyone has their own cupboard in the kitchen as well as some shared ones. There's two bedrooms downstairs and a storage room under the stairs. Upstairs there's 4 bedrooms and a bathroom split into a shower-room and a toilet-room. My current room is upstairs and we all agree it's the best one in the unit. There's no noise outside the window as it's not facing the street but looks out over some surrounding industrial buildings, and the sunset is beautiful.
