Hello, I’m Serena.
I came to Australia last September on a Working Holiday visa and have been living in Sydney for just over four months now. At first, everything felt new and exciting, but as I got busy working and fell into a similar routine every day, there are times when I forget that I’m actually living in Australia. Sometimes it feels like I’ve become a bit too comfortable in my daily routine.
That’s why I’m looking to move out of my current neighbourhood and find a place in North Sydney — the area I love most in Sydney and where I feel the strongest sense of being in Australia. I really value a cosy and comfortable living space, and I’m drawn to warm, charming homes with character. Living in a neighbourhood where I can see the Harbour Bridge, one of Sydney’s most iconic landmarks, in a home that reflects my personal style would be incredibly meaningful to me.
Currently, I work around five to six days a week at a cafe and a donut shop. On weekends or public holidays, I enjoy exploring parts of Sydney I haven’t visited yet or spending time with friends, so I tend to be out and about quite often. I value my personal time and consider myself independent, but I also enjoy living with others. I lived in a dormitory during my student years, so I’m very used to sharing a space and tend to get along with people easily.
At the moment, I’m living in a two-person shared room in a unit in Chatswood with one roommate, and we’ve been living together smoothly without any issues for the past four months.
I believe living in such a space would give me the motivation and happiness to fully enjoy the rest of my time in Sydney!
