Public transport - there is a bus at the end of the block (5 min walk) and a tram at the end of the street at Kew Junction (15 min walk), though I have to say Kew is a bit difficult without a car. Close to supermarket and High St shops, 15 min drive to the city, 5 mins from the Eastern Freeway, but tucked away enough to feel private and quiet. We currently seek a new housemate to commence living with us from early January onward - bedroom is well sized (approximately 12 square metres) with built in wardrobes, plenty of natural light and comes unfurnished. That said having lived at the apartment for a number of years every other room is fully furnished and at $594 per calendar month is relatively cheap considering the overall size. It is an older building so expect plenty of character and includes hardwood floors, a large living room, which can be closed off when entertaining guests as well as an equally spacious kitchen with gas cooking, bathroom with bath/shower and separate toilet, communal laundry (with our own washing machine), undercover car parking (generally always full) and plenty of parking in the street. We are close (walking distance) to a small group of shops including the highly acclaimed Ora cafe and there is transport nearby in the form of either the route 200/207 and 302/304 buses, which both run to the city. Nearest train station is Alphington but would only suit someone willing to drive or ride there. We are two full time employed men aged in our early-30s and during the week you will generally only see us of an evening however we are open to shared meals, a range of different films on the living room projector and enjoy the mid-week beverage/BBQ on the balcony if the weather permits. Yes â€“ we also have a balcony that is put to good use! While Sunday â€“ Thursday is pretty relaxed due to work commitments, most weekends you will find us out socialising and on the odd occasion we'll have friends come back for a drink after a night out. We are respectful and do our very best keep the noise to a minimum (we donâ€™t throw impromptu house parties) and furthermore the bedroom for rent is ideally located furthest away from the living room. Taking all the above into consideration the ideal housemate is mid-20s to early-30s, cleans up after themselves, employed semi-regularly, maintains a busy lifestyle, and is respectful of others and their belongings. For the sake of making life simple we split utilities in thirds and are open to buying/sharing all the necessary kind of items required for maintaining a harmonious home environment when needed â€“ toilet paper is a good example. We're close by to the Westgarth Village, the tram is 30 seconds walk away, train is 8 min walk, Merri Creek trail is around the corner, not to mention the Terminus Hotel, Mixed Business Cafe and all the other great things close by in the Clifton Hill & Westgarth Villages. The bedroom is unfurnished, but we have everything else needed in the shared areas. The house is a 10 minute walk to High St and the 86 tram, 12 minute walk to Croxton train station. Coles/Aldi/Kmart all 10 minute walk away at the Northcote shopping centre. The Northcote Leisure and Aquatic Centre is a 10 minute walk in the opposite direction. We are a smoke free house (and yard!) Rent is $217 per week (paid monthly - $941), bond is $1158 internet is $25 per housie, per month, other utility bills get split equally as they are received.
