I'm looking for someone to join my beautiful apartment! It is eco friendly with solar panels and uses rainwater for the toilets and is really well located with a train station 5 minutes walk. The area is a quiet, family neighbourhood. Everything you need in a kitchen and living is already there and there's also a secure storage cage down stairs. The living room also has air-conditioning and I have a Chromecast for all binge watching needs! Internet is all set up and $40 each a month for unlimited data. All bills usually come to $80 a month. The building has access cards and excellent security.
We don't have any of our own photos as we move in on Monday so please excuse the poor photography! The house is a 7 minute walk to Alphington station and a 9 minute walk to Fairfield station/shops, the 350, 508 and 546 buses run past the front of the house and take you to the city and across to Sydney road, Brunswick. The bedroom is medium sized with a high ceiling, floorboards and a large window (Shown in the first picture).
Super close to public transport, good cafes and restaurants and it’s a short commute to the city as well as great nightlife spots like Fitzroy, Brunswick and Richmond. The unit is on a quiet block with only three other units and our neighbours are all really lovely and easy to get a long with.
The room comes furnished with everything you will need (bed, ..), AC (!!), a walk-in wardrobe and your own bathroom. Alphington as well as Fairfield train station are in 5 mins walking distance and a 26 mins train ride to Flinders Street Railway station. The house is beautiful and the location gorgeous since we are still quite close to the city and very close to the Yarra River boat houses and trails too. The location of our house provides the perfect mixture of nature and city :)
Do you love peaceful tree-lined streets full of dogs and fancy houses? Do bike paths and eucalypts fill you with joy? Then you should definitely come live with me in Alphington! My current housemate is moving to Perth to pursue her PhD (!), so I'm on the hunt for someone to join me in my little two-bedroom apartment! Rent is $804 pcm (the bond is the same amount) plus bills, and you’d be signing onto the lease – but the landlord is pretty chill about approving lease transfers midway through the term if you need to scram. The apartment is tucked away in the south of Alphington, between Darebin Creek and the Yarra River. The area is super-quiet and safe, and really aesthetically pleasing – lots of lovely architecture and lush gardens. The 546 bus from Heidelberg stops at Yarra Bend Park, Clifton Hill, Fitzroy Pool/Brunswick Street, Melbourne Uni and Queen Vic Market - it's only a three-block stroll from the house. Alphington Station (on the Hurstbridge line) is a ten-minute walk away – the train takes just under 20 mins to get to Flinders Street. The 508 bus to Northcote Plaza and Moonee Ponds also leaves from the station. There are four native parklands easy walking distance from the front door (pics attached - there's also a trail all the way to Yarra Bend Park if you're a bit more adventurous), and two major bike paths (Darebin Creek Trail and Main Yarra Trail) run right past! The house itself is pretty humble – the kitchen is clean and functional and I have a heap of kitchenware, a food processor and a super-handy rice cooker. The bathroom is also nice and clean with a washing machine, ample storage, and lovely water pressure in the shower. The loungeroom is rather low-key, but it comes with a couple of insanely comfy recliners and a real nice painting of a tiger. There's wall space if you'd like to hang something - I haven't gotten around to putting any hooks up. The bedroom (unfurnished) is big enough for a double bed and a small desk, with a pretty generous built-in wardrobe, and there’s a lovely, permanently sunny view over a fancy green garden with magnolias and chickens in it. There’s also a free parking space (I don’t own a car so it’s all yours - or we can try and rent it out if you don't need it!). If you’re queer-friendly and think this sounds like a decent place to live, please slide into my DMs and we can sort out a time to meet. Move-in date is ideally December 17th onward but is flexible if you need to move in late Dec/early Jan :) P.S. I'm not allowed to say yes to couples or smokers (also this breaks my heart but no furry pets are allowed 😭)! The unit is up a flight of stairs, so there’s sadly no wheelchair access.
This property would suit someone who is looking for good value and privacy. The room is a loft and has a staircase leading up to it so has no door, is unfurnished (except for a mattress if needed) and no wifi is included hence the rent reduction. I will be away for alot of the time you are here so alot of the time you will have the place to yourself. Bills are not included in the rental price and we would split them 50/50. Alphington is a quiet and leafy little suburb and the apartment is close to the darebin creek trail and Alphington train station.

Summer in sunny Thornbury house. We are looking for a couple or a single for our house! For a sublet from 22nd of December until 19th of Jan. (4 weeks exactly but date can be flexible!) We are a 3 bedroom house in Thornbury, just over the Northcote border and on the St George’s side. About the house: Your room would be the biggest room of the house, at the front with large windows. FOR A COUPLE: The sublet amount would be $1200 which equates to $300 a week FOR A SINGLE: The sublet amount would be 100, which equates to 250 a week. It will absolutely be the coolest of all the rooms over summer and will be empty when you arrive. (I can arrange a queen bed if needed) Washing machine and dryer with the ol’ separate toilet which we love and large sunlit living room that backs on to our decent sized backyard. We have a producing and cared for veggie garden which will be all yours to eat, as well as compost that we would love you to be aware of! Outside tables and a fire pit are also bonuses for the summer season. We have a few friends in walking distance so there might be people popping over to grab the mower or have a cuppa or a meal, always room for everyone but it is a welcoming place. The location is awesome...melbourne's best cafes, bars and restaurants are all around here within walking distance. The street has a community vibe to it and we often hang out with our neighbours. Even though it's so close to Smith and Brunswick streets, it's still feels secluded and quiet and a nice place to relax. We have a separate living room (TV, nice sound system, netflix and all those goodies inc) and a cute little courtyard which is a great for entertaining. Courtyard comes with ferns, herbs and a compost :) There's also an outdoor loo in the back yard to serve for emergencies...:/ The house has super high ceiling and floor board on the whole ground floor - where the room advertised here is located. Your room has a big window giving on our courtyard, not on the street, so you have your privacy. It feels good in the house, particularly thanks to all the plants Reidun has scattered in all the living areas.
