This house has a very cute courtyard and is located in the heart of exciting Balmain. There is a lovely park in front of the house where neighbor's kids and dogs are playing. The house is not modern but very cute & peaceful and has enough space to breathe for two of us. Awesome restaurants and cafes at your doorstep! How exciting!
Our place is set back from the road so we don't hear much traffic noise. The neighbours are pretty quiet (except for the odd Saturday night) and will have a chat when we see them. They dropped us off a Christmas pressie this year! We share bin duties but the laundry and washing machine is our own. The shower pressure is perfection. There's also a bath. The kitchen is open plan and a good size to have people over for dinner/ swing a cat in. The verandah is excellent to catch the morning sun on with a cup of tea or relax into the evening with a nice beer or wine. The house is clean and cared for and the rooms are a decent size- both big enough to fit a queen bed and furniture. It's easy to get a breeze through the house by opening up the front and back door. Because of the house's setting, it tends to keep the cool in summer and is alright in winter. We have an air conditioning unit, but unfortunately it is for aesthetic purposes only and probably last functioned in the 1990s. Not sure if this still counts? We're metres away from the bus stop that will take you into town. The usual ride is 10 mins, but that can bump up to 25 in peak hour traffic. That being said, it's not at all far to walk to Balmain wharf to catch the ferry (best way to get to work). Sometimes we also walk or cycle in. The closest coffee shop is 150m down the road (Little Ethel's- they also do a decent B&E roll in your most desperate hour). The closest convenience store is 50m down the road and run by Shelly- she's a cool lady who sometimes throws in a lolly or two when you duck in to buy the paper and the milk you just realised you've run out of when you poured your cereal into the bowl. There's always on-street unlimited parking available nearby on one of the side streets. Being in Balmain, we're close to a number of pubs. The trivia at Dick's is good, but you gotta be ready to bring your A-game. The food at the Balmain is cheap and cheerful but super tasty. Further to that, being in Balmain means there are dogs everywhere which means you're basically guaranteed a pat whenever you step outside. Woolies and the cafes of Darling Street are a 10 minute walk away, if that. There's a library, and Dawnies pool is a 15 minute walk. The Bay Run is 20mins walk away...but if you run there it's quicker (!) Oh, and there's Bob. We don't know if he's a negative or a positive. As the neighbourhood feline he isn't owned by anyone. He'll just show up for pats or to be sassy, depending on how he's feeling that day. Works well as hot water bottle in winter.

This is a lovely near-new apartment in the Union Balmain complex in Rozelle. It is set over two levels with a bedroom and bathroom on each floor, and thus ideal for sharing. In addition to the bedrooms and bathrooms, there is a modern open plan kitchen and dining/living room, a balcony, and a study. The apartment came with an integrated refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer included. I have furnished the dining/living room and recently purchased a queen bed and mattress for the bedroom that is vacant (but this could be removed if you have one).
