I'm a relatively relaxed individual with liberal mindset and I'd prefer to live with other relaxed liberal(progressive, not australian "liberal" aka conservative) types. I have an extensive tea collection and love sharing it. I also cook on my weekends and make more than enough for myself so there is frequently extra food to eat. I have a puppy named Cosmo (2.5 years old at the moment) he is an alaskan klee kai (essentially a miniature husky, so he will remain small). No obligations on your part and he keeps pretty quiet but does bark when somebody comes to the door. He has graduated from puppy preschool so he isn't rampaging around the house. Cosmo is a bit cautious of new people but warms up within 5-10 minutes especially when treats are involved. You'd be welcome to play with him. Unfortunately my lease states that I can't have any other pets aside from "1 alaskan klee kai dog" so I won't respond if you want to bring another pet (it isn't up to me!). Compatibility: Definitely not a party house, I have friends over for cards (against humanity) a few times a year. I had a small group over for Game of Thrones night every Monday evening with wine/salami/cheese/wine/tea/etc, but there are many more months until the next season starts :( I enjoy guests as long as they aren't live-in. Ideally you would prefer dinner parties over toga parties. I prefer liberal/progressive type people who aren't regularly stressed out. Bonus points if we share similar hobbies though not required. As an expat I'd like to make some new friends but also have my own space and quiet time. Not looking for couples or those interested in room sharing. Looking for somebody between 25-35. The area itself is nice and quiet, multiple parks, cafes and pubs within walking distance. The house has everything you need with space for an extra side table/bookcase or two if you have 'em. I have a communal TV setup with Netflix and Stan for chilled house times after work and such :) The house isn’t huge, but feels like home. The backyard doesn’t look like much at the moment, but I will be spending the next few weekends turning it into a green paradise. Your room is not furnished (no built-in storage either) so you would need to bring your own bedroom furniture. It has venetian blinds and new floors though, fancy! My greyhound Evita and I live in a 2br semi-detached house at the Anzac Bridge end of Rozelle. $350 includes all bills/wifi (unlimited). I want to first put it out there that this quirky little place has a bathroom that is only about 185cm high! I have nothing against tall people, so if you don't mind bending down to shower, feel free to message. It's an older, character-filled home with a separate lounge and kitchen, a private courtyard and an internal laundry. It's split level, with only my bedroom upstairs, so we wouldn't be living on top of each other. I'm happy to consider couples but then rent would be $390. The room is smallish, though. It's a short walk to Darling Street and close to the shops and cafes of Rozelle and Balmain. It's less than ten minutes by bus to the city (15m during peak time). The bus stop is a couple of mins walk at the end of the street and the light rail is within walking distance too. The room is medium sized. I don't have any pics of it furnished yet as I forgot to take any before my current housemate moved in. It has a double bed with mattress, linen, doona, and the wardrobe you see in the pic. I will also get a bedside table and tall boy (my current housemate didn't want me to provide those). Bills are included in the rent, so other than three weeks bond, there won't be any additional costs. Most importantly, you need to be cool with living with my dog. Sadly, I can't have any more pets at the property.
