The apartment: is a massive beach flat on the ground floor with lots of light and airflow. It’s furnished except for your room and the sunroom is a bit bare.. The kitchen is huge and bright and there’s a washing machine here but communal line in the yard. There’s plenty of garden and sunshine to hang in and only a 5 (or less) minute walk to the beach. I used to walk to Coles in about 10 minutes from around the corner so it’s super close to important things like food and of course Darby st. It’s only a 20minute walk to the CBD and less if you’re a car person. There’s only on street parking with this apartment as whoever built this place only built 3 garages (weird). Anyway the room is prob medium sized and will easily fit a queen bed and prob a desk. However the sunroom is available for all your study and relaxing and studying needs ❤️ Details & stuff: can’t give an estimate on bills yet as I’ve only been here a week. I’m in the midst of unpacking so the pics are mostly the real estate ad photos. Internet is not yet hooked up but will be getting it ASAP.
The best thing about this place is it’s location, opposite Bar Beach! The view is absolutely beautiful and there’s a great balcony which is perfect for having breaky, dinner and relaxing drinks on. There’s plenty of on street parking and the wifi is also reliable. It’s close to cafes and restaurants and walking distance to the shops.
The Space: We have a Medium sized room available for rent in a very liveable and convenient part of Newcastle, The Hill. A rarity to find in this neck of the woods, our free standing house is within walking distance to the delightful Bar Beach, Harris Farm markets, and the endless cafe and shopping found on Darby Street. Also, the UON City Hub is an easy walk and/or riding distance (trust me, I was a regular last year). Your bedroom is a medium sized room able to fit a double bed and featuring a large window to the front garden and cool breezes. It also features are large built in robe and the layout of the house means you have a bathroom which is practically used only by you! The house was originally a 4 bedroom student home, however we feel the space is more appropriate to three people. We have a decent sized room for our lounge and dining area, a functional kitchen with bench space for all your culinary needs (as well as juicers, food processes, electric grills!). The fourth bedroom was used as a study last year, this year there are plans to place a sofa bed in there to create a guest room (if we can manage it). The house has solar panels, meaning the electricity bills are low relative to other households- even with fans and/or heaters going through the night! (*please note fans and heaters not included in house). The TV is connected to Netflix, FoxtelGO and other free to air websites and television. Whilst the internet is unlimited NBN, so google to your hearts content! The back yard, of which is concrete, we have attempted to create an urban garden theme with pot plants, fairy lights and vegetables (We welcome any green thumbs that may be able to assist Hayley in caring for plants). In contrast, the front yard is flat and grassy, delightful for an afternoon picnic.

We are within walking distance to the beach, Darby Street cafes and CBD. The best aspect to this property is its location. It is an extremely short stumble to Darby Street and a slightly longer stroll to Bar Beach. The couch, dining table and dryer will be moving out with my current housemate. I am open to purchasing some of these goods but it depends on what the person who moves in will be bringing with them. Hey, We are looking for another roommate for our townhouse in Merewether. The room for rent is upstairs is unfurnished, but does have built in wardrobes. You would be sharing the upstairs bathroom (shared between 2). We have a small garden which we grow veges. We also have Foxtel and a large screen projector great for watching sport and movies! it is in a brilliant location in the heart of newcastle. We are in walking distance to the beach, Darby street, public transport and almost everything else you could want. The house has lots of nice natural light, a great little outside area with a bbq, a veggie patch (that needs a little love) and lots and lots of succulents. The rest of the house is pretty much fully furnished. However the bedroom is not. It is large enough to fit a queen bed and a side table, it also has built in shelves a desk and a two door cupboard that has plenty of room for storage.

Its really central, walking distance to the beach, the junction village and approximately 50m from the prince of wales, which screens all major sporting events, (ITS GREAT). I haven't had any trouble living in the area! its pretty great! People in the apartment block are really friendly. You can leave your clothes on the clothes line for a few days, nothing gets stolen...i've had washing on the line for 5 days before. We have two balcony's which we use to leave the doors open and screens closed for a great breeze when its hot at night/day. We are lucky enough to have the first floor front balcony which faces the street.
