Bee hives are also on the agenda. Current people living here have chickens, make soap jams sauces (they love cooking) and build stuff in the shed. One is a musician who turns the house into a recording studio when no one is around :-) We do not care about your sexuality, your age, your employment status, your religion and so forth. Just get along and keep the house well maintained. Finances: Rent is $150 per room. Bills are free except if they head into the extraordinary range. As we have solar - we can use a lot of power during the day. Internet is connected (ADSL) and unlimited. BOND: 2 weeks rent, and rent is paid in advance. So $600 on move day and $300 every two weeks following. Bond returned on exit providing you are current with rent. (your initial rent will pay for your mattress etc) (Every room has exactly the same bed and mattress). Pets: We have chickens and a cat. The cat is reclusive and should not cause allergy problems. I am allergic to cats ! We will not take another cat but MAY consider a dog if it is only an outdoor dog AND it is already proven chicken friendly. Our chickens free range the yard and we have 5 different breeds. We cannot afford to lose any and they are as much pets as is our cat. Cleaning: You are expected to pull your weight around the house. Common sense will see you clean up after yourself from bathroom to kitchen to living area. We are particularly after people that are both neat and tidy with their own rooms and the main spaces of the house. Other things: We often run a large air filter in main area of the house. We did have some mold issues which led us to remove all the carpets and tile the entire house. We replaced the entire contents of the house with brand new furniture that will not go moldy provided it is well maintained. We are a very clean and chemical free household. Our cleaning products are mostly vinegar, alcohol and hydrogen peroxide. We occasionally use bleach for the toilet but we have a monitored septic system so we are limited to what we can use. No fly sprays no poisons, no roundup (Glyphosate). No strong artificial scents, no aerosol deodorants (use roll on). Nothing in the house that is a potential mold problem or irritant. This is a fantastic place to live. It is quiet, has a massive yard whilst still in the main area of Hervey Bay. There is plenty of space and so many interesting things always going on.
