My name is James and I have a spare room in my apartment in Turner. I live in a really leafy street that is only 10 minutes walk from the city centre. The building is only about 15 years old and there are no major problems such as rising damp or dodgy electrical wiring. Rent is $220 a week and with that comes unlimited internet and Netflix. There is no water bill here and we will split the electricity bill 50/50. The apartment is nicely furnished with modern furnishings and is actually really spacious as far as apartments in Australia go. I have an ensuite in my room and the main bathroom would be for your own private use. The spare room has a huge built in robe and a double bed. There is a spli system air conditioner in the living room which makes life bearable in both summer and winter.

A furnished granny flat in Duffy, that joins onto the house where I and my two children live. We are close to a bus stop, with good services to Cooleman, Woden, City, Tuggeranong and Belconnen. We share the laundry in the main house but otherwise it is self contained with little kitchen and ensuite. Separate entry and lots of storage. There is a joining door to the main house which can be locked from both sides but does allow some sound through. I have two active children so you would need to be able to live with that; like me they are at school/work during the week and with their dad every second weekend (not like you and me). We are respectful of people from all walks of life and ask for your respect and consideration in return. There is unlimited internet, excellent connection (VDSL2) and hot water. The flat does not have air-conditioning :( but does have some double glazing as well as a stand fan and two plugin column heaters for warmth :). We live in a lovely neighbourhood and have good connections with our neighbours, its a pretty quiet street but with lots of kids. We aim to be as environmentally friendly and sustainable as possible.
