I have just taken the lease and moved into this lovely 2 bedroom terrace house in Carlton North. It has polished floor boards throughout, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, a split heating-cooling system, a courtyard and also a security system. It is in a fantastic location just near the library, a nice park and the beautiful Rathdowne Village. There is also a tram stop which takes you into the city at only 230 metres away and a bus into the city with the stop only 60 metres away. It has on-street parking with a permit available and there are always plenty of places.
The place is in an apartment complex on Princes Street, right off Lygon Street. Its a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom place. The hall and kitchen have a wooden floor while the bedrooms are carpeted. Your room would be fully furnished if you want to buy the furniture from my existing roommate for $300. This would include a double bed with a mattress, a table, a chair, a side table and a chest of drawers in addition to a BIR. If you wish to purchase your own furniture then that's cool too. Your room would also have an attached bathroom that would be all yours as the place has 2 bathrooms. The photos of your room and the rest of the place have been taken fairly recently and my roommate obviously still lives in the room you would be moving into, hence the bit of mess. The rest of the place is fully furnished too. The kitchen has a stove, microwave, fridge and a dishwasher. The hall has a couch, a TV cabinet and a table but no TV. My roommate would unfortunately be taking the TV in the photos along with him. We could look into buying a TV together. The place also has a washing machine. I would be buying all of these appliances and furniture (Fridge, Washing machine, Microwave, Couch, TV cabinet) from my roommate for $600. So you would be splitting that evenly with me. This would be a one time $300 payment in addition to the rent and the $300 you would pay to my roommate to buy the furniture in your room if you wish to. The place also has a balcony. There's also an assigned parking spot in the basement. The place has unlimited 100MBps internet too. This and other bills (water, gas, electricity) is in addition to the rent and would usually come out to about $20 a week. There's a grocery store that also sells beers and wines 50 meters from the place. There's a Woolworths about a 10 minute walk away. Lygon street's cafes and restaurants are also a 10 minute walk away. The closest tram stop is a 3 minute walk and is serviced by routes 1 and 6. You would be paying a bond of $1175. A lovely little home just off Lygon Street. The house is eco friendly, with solar panels – meaning electric bills are often free in summer. It has high ceilings and gets lots of natural light. It has air con, the fastest NBN (unlimited), Netflix and a dishwasher. I've installed WIFI-enabled coloured lights throughout the house, which give it a lovely chilled-out mood at night. My landlord is really wonderful and always helpful when anything goes wrong (which is rare). It is fully furnished apart from your bed + a washer/dryer. If you have these, that would be great! Otherwise I will be getting a washer soon. The room I'm renting is small but very cosy and quiet, and has a door that opens up to a little atrium where you can put plants if you have them. It gets nice morning sun through a skylight and the atrium door, and has a massive wardrobe and book shelves for ample storage. Available from Nov 1 onwards. Best suited to 30+ with full-time jobs. Couples considered but singles are probably going to be the best fit.
