Great share house! One of our flatmates is moving out so we are looking for a replacement - no couples. You would be living with 1 female, a couple and a fabulous golden retriever! So you must love dogs! Internet, Netflix are not included in rent. Plenty of Street parking available and close to public transport, great restaurants, the bay run and Birkenhead point shops.
These are NOT shared rooms (we only have private rooms). Definitely not for couples. All bills included. They only thing you'll need to bring with you is linen and your personal items. Everything else is here. We're all active (boys/girls), outgoing and sporty people. We kayak, SUP, run, swim and play all sorts of random sports. You'll quite often find us with a beer and pizza on the lounge having a beer and watching a movie. We're looking for a similar person to come and join in the fun. It's a random room, but has enough space for you to live in it... Double bed, big cupboard, drawers and other bits and bobs. It's not flashy but does the trick. the house is pretty nice and has loads of space (2 lounge rooms, front and rear yards etc). Cheap and cheerful! IT IS NOT SHARED! House itself is of a good standard, has a fire place, big back and front yards, double lock up garage (not for cars, sporting goods storage only), Included in the price of the room is all bills which is a fortnightly cleaner, electricity, water, netflix, fire wood (did I mention we have a fire place?) We have kayaks, stand up paddle board, table tennis,PS4/XBOX one/Wii for mario cart, halo, COD, board games a plenty, darts, bar fridge and an Espresso machine. Basically all the necessities. We have dogs :) their names are Busta and Prini, both quite young and active. So if you're not a dog person you can stop reading here! Second to that if you're into night clubbing/partying to all hours on a regular basis, please also stop reading here. Third time lucky, if you're a smoker we're probably not keen (there is absolutely no smoking on premises due to health issue of a resident of the house). It is a home and we all like to keep things reasonably tame, respectful and pleasant. Not to say we live like nuns though... Minutes from the bay run, 300m to bus stop and buses direct to the City/Leichardt/University Sydney. We have a cleaner (she's lovely) and gardener (me) so there is not really a lot of maintenance anyone needs to do which is great for us folk that hate doing that stuff. FAQ's Can I stay short term? YES! However, the shortest I will allow is 8 weeks. Can I bring my dog/cat? No sorry, we already have enough pets. Can my girlfriend/boyfriend or other person share the room with me? No sorry. There's already enough people in the house. The odd sleepover is ok, we just don't want a couple to be living in the house. Can I park my car in the garage if I pay extra? No. Possibly a motorbike. Great location, 3 minute walk to Woolwich pier Hotel, 2 min drive to ferry, bus is close as well. It is currently being re-carpeted and painted so I don't have updated pictures, but should be pretty schmick at the end of the process. Room isn't furnished, but taking into account the location and the relative condition of the property itself, I think it is a great option to move in. Great views, perhaps one of the best views of the Harbour Bridge on NYE, maybe. Garage will be shared I think is the most fair system TBH couples are not preferable as space might become an issue, but please contact me with any questions you may have. Low maintenance. If you’re looking for a temporary place to stay over the next month here in Sydney, filled with some of the best people I know, then you’re going to love being a part of the Harris Street fam here in Balmain. As the four of us are moving out in a month when our lease is up on February the 10th, I'm actually moving out early so am opening up my room before we need to leave the house. The house we have is located right at the quiet end of Harris Street and is conveniently a minute walk from Darling Street, which has an excellent combination of bars (Corner and Worker’s is where it’s at), pubs (g’day Sacky) and restaurants (sushi, subway, seafood - all the Ss). We’re a 5 min walk from Woolies in one direction, and in the other direction we’re a 5 min walk from the main road, where it’s a 10 min bus into the city. So if you’re working or studying in the city then our place would be perfect for you! We have a two-storey house with three bedrooms upstairs and one bedroom downstairs. Our communal area is in the centre of the house (forgive the Christmas decorations in the photos, when I took them today I realised we probably should take them down at some point) and in the lounge we love hanging out, watching Netflix or having a cheeky beer after work. All of us work full time, so at the end of the day we’re pretty exhausted, but we make up for that on the weekends and mostly love to do stuff outside the house. We’re a pretty clean and tidy bunch and hopefully our place reflects that, as our kitchen is well equipped to make most meals you’d like and has heaps of pots and pans and appliances for cooking stuff, and we have paper and glass bins in the kitchen so we can say proudly we’re green humans. In our laundry we’ve got a washing machine and outside we have our clothesline to dry clothes, which leads to a small backyard we have out the back. If you have a car you can easily park it on the street, you’ll just need to register for a permit when you move into the house. The WiFi is pretty good and the bills are taken for, as I've paid for them all before our lease is up. The room you’ll be moving in to is in the centre of the three bedrooms upstairs and is pretty damn great. The window is positioned well to let in a decent breeze during the summer, and measures at 3.55m by 3.25m and costs $210 per week. It’s a bloody steal for Balmain. The room gets a decent amount of light during the day but the blinds do a superb job of making the room pitch black if you wanna turn the room into your video-game den or home cinema. I’ll be taking all my stuff, except the bed and wardrobe up to Brisbane where I’m moving to for work and study - so it's got plenty of space for you to put your stuff.
