Station St. is a stone's throw away along with all the amenities one could ask for including a Commbank, plenty of proper cafes, an IGA (although we usually go to the Woolie's in Ivanhoe via train because value and selection), an array of mixed restaurants, a lot of them Greek, and of course the Fairfield Library. All around, Fairfield is an agreeable mix. In the suburbs, but not too suburban, as there are plenty of options for escape should one get the itch. One of those places being Yarra Bend Park, which is about a 3 minute walk away. This is my favourite thing about the whole area, a beautiful state park with the Yarra Main Trail running all the way to Federation Square. Perfect for commuting on bike, a leisurely Sunday stroll, or your morning run, the park is a godsend in terms of options and accessibility. Cherry on top of course being that the Fairfield boathouse sits right at the beginning of it all, with excellent food, and even better ambience, and views. If the park isn't your vibe and you hate nature and all things green, power to yah, Collingwood and Thornbury are super close too, perfect areas to put some drinks away or have a bit of a boogie. Rear opens up to awesome terrace, which looks out over the Yarra river and gets loads of afternoon sun - perfect for a BBQ in the warmer months. Situated a 2 minute walk from the Fairfield Boathouse, Yarra River and multiple parks and only 250m from the pub and bottle shop. Just up Station St is the train station (funny that) and plenty of good food options (Lebanese, Greek, Japanese, Vietnamese, etc.) Room itself is 3.2 x 3.2m with built in robe, carpet and heaps of natural light. Only one car space which is taken up by my Hyundai (aka the "Golden Bullet") but there are a few first-come-first-served communal parks, and plenty on the street. Other than that it's tidy and easy to maintain. Not great for parties due to proximity of neighbours (some with young kids) but great for having a few people over for dinner/drinks. $1108 per calendar month plus bills.
