Testimonial from Jenny and James from Ireland and UK: "We lived with Paul and Maribel for 8 months and in that short time we found a home away from home. Not only is the flat in an ideal location, with transport links to just about anywhere in Melbourne, it has pretty much everything you could ask for in a great flat - a comfy bed, lovely kitchen lounge, huge TV and sound system and a sun-trap balcony for the days that the sun makes an appearance! As well as this, Paul and Maribel are fantastic company - Maribel never fails to put a smile on your face and Paul is one of the most hardworking, generous people we have met! We have shared many nights full of great food and laughs with them and we will massively miss living with these two wonderful people!" Testimonial from Italian Couple from Rome, Diego and Irene: "Paul and Maribel are absolutely great. They were so lovely to share their culture and their knowledge of the area with us. They’re clean, tidy and respectful with everyone and probably the best couple we’ve ever met to share a house with. The location is more than perfect - located in a residential street in the middle of one of the best suburbs in Melbourne. We’re definitely going to miss Paul and Maribel a lot!" Diego and Irene Testimonial from previous French couple Cécilia (23) and Stéphane (25): "We have spent 5 months living with Paul and Maribel and we have enjoyed it a lot! You have all the comforts you need, a big room with a huge TV and a Queen size bed. Both of them are really nice! Paul is in the music industry and Maribel works at Chemist Warehouse. She is funny and has plenty of energy. Paul is always offering us a glass of wine with them or some food. We shared some dinners with them and it was really a great moment for us every time. Paul also makes great ginger ice-cream. This apartment is in the heart of Fitzroy, the perfect location! We are so happy to start our trip of Australia here with Paul and Maribel! " Testimonial from previous Danish Couple: "Living with Paul and Maribel has been an absolute pleasure and was probably the best decision we made during our stay in Melbourne. Paul and Maribel showed us great hospitality and made us feel at home right from the first day. They have both shared amazing tips about Fitzroy, Melbourne and Australia to help us make the best of our stay. We could not have imagined a better place, location or people to live with and we would highly recommend Paul and Maribel as flatmates." Testimonial from previous French couple Tim and Chloe: "We have stayed with Paul and Maribel for 5 months and have really enjoyed our time here. The apartment is ideally situated in the centre of Fitzroy life and yet quiet at night. The room is nice and cozy with our own big flat screen TV. Paul and Maribel are very friendly and always keen on sharing a bottle of wine or a chat after work. In sum, it's a great place to live!" Testimonial from a previous English couple Henri and Liz: "A great location, wonderful flat and Paul and Maribel made us feel more than welcome. Couldn't ask for a better start in Australia" Testimonial from a previous couple, Silvia and Sten from Estonia: "We lived at Paul's place about six months. We stayed in Australia for two years and I must say that his apartment was our favourite. It's in perfect location, just basically walk away from CBD. It's just a block away from main Brunswick street located in Fitzroy. You have so much to do in Fitzroy -like ten different markets, live music sessions, cozy restaurants. Our room was on the first floor, so it's separated from the second bedroom. The room is just great! It's a really nice light-filled room with big windows towards the street. Paul is very very friendly. He is a workaholic but still able to organise a nice dinner every now and then. He also made one awesome wine degustation. We had chats about everything and we really enjoyed that. He is open minded and likes to meet new people. We felt really good in Paul's apartment and if we ever go back to Melbourne we definitely go and knock on his door." Testimonial: Jaden and Natascha (NZ and Canada): My partner and I lived with Paul for six months. We were new to Melbourne at the time and were so glad to find a place like Pauls in Fitzroy. Just one street back from Brunswick Street with dozens of restaurants and shops at our doorstep and only a ten-minute tram ride from the CBD, we couldn't have found a better location to live. The furnishings of the place including bedroom are top notch adding to its desirability and rarity. Paul himself is a fantastic roommate- easy going, considerate, and very friendly. During our time here he very kindly threw dinner parties for our own personal occasions. This is the ideal place for any person or couple looking for a safe and relaxing environment to live in! My housemate is moving out so I have a room available on October 6 in my house in Fitzroy for $300 a week! 🏡 THE HOUSE 🏡 A workers cottage located on Napier St, just past Johnston. Super close to all the best bars and restaurants Fitzroy has to offer, Coles about 5 minutes away and the 11 tram even closer. Such an ideal location. Everything besides the bedroom is fully furnished. 🛌 THE ROOM 🛌 Your room is at the front of the house. It can easily fit a double bed, all your clothes and a desk or chest of drawers. Plenty of morning light, but there's also good blinds on the window if you'd prefer to sleep in. ✨ YOU ✨ Are in your early-mid twenties, working or studying but with a steady income. You're relatively clean, respectful of others and happy to do your share of keeping the house going. Rent will be $300 a week ($1300 a month) including internet, but all other bills we'll split as they come in. The bond is $1725 which ends in February :). If you're planning on staying for a shorter time period, that's also fine and let's have a chat! If this sounds like somewhere you'd like to live, please send me a message with a bit about yourself. Questions welcome too! I'm looking forward to hearing from you ✌️✨
I've got a great house in one of Melbourne's best positions and have a room for rent available. The room is downstairs at the front of the house, it's quite large, has polished floorboards and opens onto a small verandah. It is furnished with a double bed, side table, desk, clothes rack, mirror and armchair. The 2 storey house was originally a dairy and the main entrance is through an arched carriageway along the side of the house. This means that it doesn't have the pokey feel of a terrace and the rooms all come off a large light filled stairwell, so it's fairly unique. The house is pretty big for Fitzroy, is fully furnished and has 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, lounge and a backyard with a Jacaranda tree. Rent is $365/week. Includes internet & water bills. Available from 4th October. I'm a filmmaker and part time lecturer and share the house with my boyfriend Sean, a photographer who tends to travel a bit. I'm looking for a housemate who wants to live in a friendly and functional home in a truly amazing location, minutes walk to Gertrude St, Brunswick St, Exhibition/Carlton Gardens and the City. If this sounds like you drop me a message.
The apartment is a two-story flat with only one set of direct neighbours. It is on the top 2 floors of an apartment building just off Brunswick Street. It is a short walk to the number 11 and 86 trams and all the activity Brunswick and Smith Street have to offer, it is also quiet as it faces towards the residential streets of Fitzroy/ Fitzroy North (if you are up early enough you will witness some beautiful sunrises during the summer months). The downstairs area is shared with a north-facing balcony, open-plan kitchen, living, dining and study area. There is a half bath with laundry room (washing machine only) next to the kitchen. Upstairs are the two bedrooms, which are on alternate sides of the stairway with built-in robes separating the common wall. They each have their own small north-facing balconies with lots of plants (if you aren't a plant person I will take back ownership of the ones your side :-)) The bedroom has built-in robes, a queen bed, TV, air-con/ heating and your own newly renovated ensuite (so there is no sharing of bathrooms). There is an off-street parking spot available, however this would increase the per-month price by $200. If you do not need off-street parking, but do need parking - there is a valid permit available, once it expires - you would just need to get it renewed. Parking with a permit in the area is pretty easy - it just depends on your on/ off-street preference. Internet is included in the rent, electricity and water would be split and based on usage (it generally averages to ~$60 a month). Depending on how it all shakes out - I'd be open to extending the rental period to longer than 6 months, I'm really looking for a good fit in the space so am not to keen to sign anyone up for an agreement longer than 6 months.
