The rooms have a large built in wardrobes, ceiling fans, beds and a desk. The house is pretty Eco friendly and has rainwater tanks that connect to the washing machine and toilets, a 10Kw solar system, insulation and reverse cycle A/C. A Tesla Powerwall is planned when they release the next model. The house itself is fully furnished. We try and keep an even mix of male and female students as we find it works best for everyone. The house itself is a six bedroom, three bathroom federation style house that is fully restored in Federation period style. It's handy to shops, public transport, pool, pubs, cycleways and being close to both the city and uni campuses it's a great place to live. Four weeks bond is payable prior to moving in as well as 100 points of ID and your UoN student number. We rarely have any problems filling the rooms and give the tenants ownership of the place which usually includes the students themselves interviewing all the potential housemates to see who would be the best fit in the case of a vacancy at the end of the year. Strictly no smokers. No pets. No drugs. CLEANLINESS!!! A cleaner will come once a week to clean all the common areas. She is not there to clean up after you in any way. I can’t stress this enough. If you like to cook and leave a mess, eat and not clean up in a timely manner afterwards this isn’t the property for you. If you would like the cleaner to clean your room you will have to negotiate this directly with her. The house is located within a short walking distance to a shopping centre and only 200 metres to bus stops that provide transport to both the university and the city every 15 minutes. There is a cycleway at the end of the street that follows the waterfront into the heart of the city. Travel to and from either the City (4km) or Callaghan campus (3. 8km) by bicycle in around 15 minutes. The house is set in a quiet street with great neighbours, and the property offers fully-landscaped gardens and large living areas. The lease for the room is until 19 Jan 2020 with an option to extend additional years without any changes to the rental agreement price. The house has been fully painted and had new appliances added since the photos shown. University of Newcastle students, CSIRO and young professionals preferred. No TAFE, or distance learning students. International students welcome to apply once in country. If you are not in country and physically able to come to the property, do not apply. This share-house is leased by a private landlord. Very relaxed. Everyone is very friendly and also very private. This is not a party house. The other two tenants are in their mid-twenties. Dog-friendly. Neat and tidy. Everyone pitches in with the house-work without being asked. We let each other know if we have visitors coming over. House issues are discussed via Messenger App. The room is small. It's actually an office with sliding (not traditional) bedroom door. Air con is in the living room. Small TV is in the living room also. We share the fridge/pantry - one shelf each. Internet is approx. $35 per month each and we split other bills three ways. Tenants with dogs are preferred. No cats due to allergies in the house.
There is a large backyard and deck that is great for having friends over and having a bbq. There is air conditioning that works great for the upcoming summer season. There will be some items such as Utensils and kitchen equipment that is present. Also the two flat mates are young and hardworking who take very good care of the property.

This is a very colourful, creative, fun, and plant filled house, with a chill zen vibe. The house is located 2 minutes walk from chemist warehouse, Aldi and woolies and is a 5 min drive to Waratah village with Kmart and Coles. Nile St is located just off Maitland rd, so its super accessible for use of public transport. Despite its proximity to Maitland rd, our street is nice and quiet with easy on street parking. Only a 10-15 minute drive to either of the university campuses (Newspace and Callaghan). Short drives or bike rides to Hamilton, town or the beach. We have two spacious living rooms, decent kitchen space, spacious bathroom (shower and bathtub w/ separate toilet), and a cute little back verandah and garden w/ secure fence. We have a projector for movie nights and lots of light 😊✨ $157 weekly with bills excluded, we have solar to help with electricity and hot water and are pretty energy efficient so bills are never too pricey 🙂 The room comes with bed frame, double mattress, wardrobe, chest of drawers and a desk, but were flexible on furnishings (if you have any of your own you'd prefer to move in, we're happy to accomodate).
