The house is open plan and spacious, with a great modern kitchen for any Masterchefs out there and a huge backyard. We are located on a quiet street in a really great area - 200 metres from the Maribyrnong River (including the Anglers Tavern and the Boat house restaurant), about 2 kms from Highpoint Shopping Centre, a 15-20 walk to the Moonee Ponds Train station (20 min ride to Flinders station CBD), inc Puckle street shops, cafes and restaurants. The 57 and 82 Tram are also a short stroll down the road. On street parking is available. When you first move in you will be living with Mel (hi that’s me!) and Kylie (and her super cute Yorkie Winston). The house is right around the corner from the Melbourne Showgrounds and is close to the Flemington racecourse. My current roommate is moving back home, which means I have a private room available for rent in this newly refurbished unit in Essendon. The unit is on the ground floor in a block secured by security gates. It is on a quiet, established street with the 59 tram line just a minute walk to the end of the street. Along with the tram being super close, the Essendon train station is also just a 5 minute walk away. It's only about a 15 minute drive from to the CBD, has public transport close by and is still extremely quiet. Your potential future home is a room within a lovely old double fronted Victorian built in the 1900's. It has a good sized backyard and almost all common area items have already been bought. Located on Albion Street, we have the 503 bus service on our doorstep, The 59 and 55 tram line a 10 minute walk away and the Essendon train station a 15 minute walk away. About the house: The house is very modern with HEAPS of storage and the communal living area is huge, so if you come with furniture, we don't mind! There isn't a backyard but we do have a reasonable sized courtyard/patio area; there are parks close-by. There is a double garage with space for storage and there is also free parking on the road. The room itself has ample storage including built-in drawers and a reverse-cycle air-con and a separate heater. You will be sharing a large bathroom (with a bath) with three other housemates. The flatmates: We have 2 girls and 3 boys, who are a mixture of kiwis and Australians early-late twenties. Bec and I love living at this property because it is super close to an array of things! We live so close to awesome cafes and a burger joint! The bus stop is right out the front of our house, and the number 55 tram is only a 10 min walk away! If you're up for a little bit of an extra hike you can take a 20 min walk to tram 59 or Essendon station. Public transport aside the house is super spacious and have built in wardrobes that you can fit plenty of clothes in. We have air conditioning and ducted heating, so we're cool in summer, and toasty in winter! The bedrooms are pretty big. You can easily fit all the things you need in your bedroom to make it feel like home!
