Personally, we’re healthy, like to cook and exercise, and go to arts and music festivals when we can (we’re past the crazy festivals tho). Overall we’re easy-going, semi-tidy people and expect you to be the same. = ) THE ROOM: The bedroom is a medium-to-large room with an adjoining study. Furnishings include a double bed, side-table, TV, shelves and a large desk. We have spare furniture if you wish to use it and any of the furniture can be moved if you have your own. We also have a storage area if you need to use it. Close to the study is the back entrance to the building and a second toilet. THE HOUSE: While the house looks ok from the front it is A LOT better on the inside. The house has an art-deco style with tall ceilings, large living spaces, carpets and polished floor-boards, air-con and gas. There is a large lounge room, large kitchen, large bathroom, 3 bedrooms (2 large bedrooms with adjoining studies), 2 toilets (you have your own), gym, balcony, garage and a storage room. Each of us have our own large living areas so personal space and privacy is easy to attain, plus we're usually busy with work and study so you’ll often have the house to yourself anyway. We have all the usual kitchen bits-and-pieces which you are welcome to use or you can add your own. There is also a balcony overlooking Stirling Hwy with a BBQ but we usually just use it for drinks with friends. We’re well situated at 55 Stirling Hwy between UWA and the Captain Stirling (Cap S). Next to the Captain Stirling is a supermarket, chemist, bakery, and takeaway food, all are only a 5-minute walk. There are also plenty of shops and restaurants on Broadway/Hampton Rd. The bus stop is a 30-second walk away (City-Fremantle line, 10mins to city, 5mins to Cott, 15mins to Freo). If you have a car there is both a driveway and off-street parking. There are a couple of small units that are adjoined to the building which are occupied by both professionals and students, but our house is the main property and is almost three-times the size of the units (two story building, we occupy the top floor). Our neighbours are quiet and friendly but we basically never hear/see them as there is a side entry. Locks are all in working order so security is not a problem. Rent inspections are every 4-6 months and we have a good relationship with both the owner and real estate agent. Bills are extra, roughly $15p/m for electricity, $20 for gas and $24 for the internet (NBN speed is good). All-in-all, the house is relaxed and settled (not a uni-party house). We are fine with friends visiting and gatherings so-long-as everyone is considerate of others. Nice little place in nedlands, a few minutes walk from the bus or train m. My parents own it and have just finished an almost full renovation so it’s all sparkly and fresh and new. Has aircon in the main living areas (doesn’t get a lot of direct sun in the bedrooms so have never needed aircon in them in summer). Super nice outdoor entertaining space with some little garden beds.
