The house is a three bedroom brick and tile house in preston with a pretty big back yard and private front yard with a little sunny porch (which is a nice place for a cup of tea). There are also some fruit trees in the back yard with nectarines, cherries, lemonades and kumquats. There are two toilets, and one bathroom, a laundry (with a washing machine you can use) a kitchen with a gas oven/stove and a plant filled living room. There is also a sun room but its a bit weird and has a bath tub in it (Its still nice and warm in winter though.) The house is fully furnished, and the available room has plenty of storage so all you would need to bring is a bed and your things. There is ducted heating/air conditioning although we are waiting for it to be fixed at the moment. The house is walking distance to Northland shopping centre and High Street (where there is a train station and buses) as well as the 86 tram into the city, the 251 bus into the city and the 567 bus to Fairfield/Northcote. There is also a garage & car port if you drive. $175 a week plus bills, or $200 a week including bills (which includes unlimited internet). We are very easy going, both in our late 20's, clean, respectful and all round pretty cool. We like to hang out and have a wine sometimes and other times like our quiet times in our rooms. We both like to have friends over and keep social. The house is quite old and the decor is also. Would suit someone with an eye for vintage/retro furnishings. The room is a generous size, has room for queen bed, bedside tables, clothes racks and desk. You will see in the pics we have used it as a spare room so you do have the option of having it partially furnished if you'd like otherwise we are happy to empty it out. We have a large garage out the back and my rabbit Levi is usually roaming around in there somewhere. We are a 5 min walk from plenty road tram that goes to LaTrobe uni or Smith street/City. The house is a newly renovated Edwardian with big rooms, high ceilings and polished hardwood floors. It has a spacious modern kitchen, a great bathroom with claw-foot bath, big courtyard with veggie garden beds and cute front porch. It's a 15 minute walk to Thornbury bars/cafes and 18 mins to Preston Market. We are looking for someone who doesn't mind kids (for obvious reasons) and who actively keeps a tidy house (we are house-proud, Luis especially!) We are fairly busy and social people and are often out and about or staying at my partner's house 3 to 4 nights per week. The room is available from March. I live in and own a 2 bedroom apartment with my bengal cat, Amity. The apartment is fully furnished (with the exception of your room) Everything is provided kitchen, laundry and lounge room wise. I'm more than happy for you to use whatever you wish, with the only exception that you clean up after yourself and avoid damage where you can. Internet is unlimited. It's quite a big package that includes Fetch TV (Optus Sport and a bunch of other channels) it cost $70 a month each. I have foxtel with every channel which runs through my laptop and you are able to use for free. The lounge room has a 60" TV, Surround sound and an xbox one. Which again I am happy for you to use as long as it's used respectfully. Your bedroom is a 3x3m with a built in wardrobe. Unfortunately it does not have a window so the door is glazed glass. I am happy for you to put posters over the back of the door to maximise your privacy (You can't see through the door anyway.) There is unlimited parking across the road in the Preston South shopping centre carpark where other residents also Park. The 86 tram is right outside the front door and Bell and Thornbury train station are both approx 400m away.

My girls go to their dad's house 2-3 nights per week so I enjoy some time to myself too. So sometimes the house is bustling with their energy and other times it is quiet. I find it an ideal balance. In my spare time I like to go to yoga, brunch with friends, bike riding with my girls, salsa dancing and I love going to the movies. The room available is at the back of the house so has some privacy and a lovely view of the big backyard. There is a large living room and a separate kitchen/dining room. There is a large backyard with BBQ and I'm working on a vegetable garden so potentially fresh produce in a couple a months (I don't have the best track record with keeping plants alive so no promises). There is also a single car garage that your welcome to use. Tram 11 stop at the end of the street. I'm happy to consider people with pets if they get along with my two cats. I would need to run it past the landlords as well but they were fine with my pets so think it should be fine. Non-smokers only please.
Hi, we have a fantastic character house with a lovely garden. It's in a very safe and beautiful part of Preston. We're close to trams 1 (Melbourne Uni RMIT in 20 minutes) and 11 (Brunswick Street, City and St Kilda ) and the Train is close by also. We are approximately 30 minutes by public transport to Latrobe Uni. Just a short walk up the road is a milkbar, and also within 10 minutes walking distance is a bakery, supermarket, chemist , doctors and several fantastic cafes. We are surrounded by parklands. The Merri Creek bike trail is just down the road if you have a bike. The room is fully furnished with built in robes,and would ideally suit an honest, independant student looking for comfort, and quiet. It has a beautiful sunset view. I've been told the room is above standard. We have wifi and bills are to be shared. We are very easy going and friendly , and would enjoy getting together for a meal once a week. . We eat meat. We have shared with many international students and have made many friends this way. I am a single mother with a young daughter so parties are definitely NOT OK. House cleaning is to be strictly shared and done on a weekly basis. Our house is a happy one, and we have a cat, and guinea pigs. There is lots of laughter and chatter but also peace. Preston market is 3 minutes away, always a very good choice for grocery shops. This is not a house party, but we like to go out and have some drinks at home as well. We like to enjoy life, work when its needed, make friends, listen good music and have a good moment living in Melbourne. The monthly rent is $660, paying every 17th and every couple of months we have to pay water, electricity and wifi bills that they are not more than $30 in total each person.
