We're close to trams 1 (Melbourne Uni RMIT in 20 minutes) and 11 (Brunswick Street, City and St Kilda ) and the Train is close by also. We are approximately 30 minutes by public transport to Latrobe Uni. Just a short walk up the road is a milkbar, and also within 10 minutes walking distance is a bakery, supermarket, chemist , doctors and several fantastic cafes. We are surrounded by parklands. The Merri Creek bike trail is just down the road if you have a bike. The room is fully furnished with built in robes,and would ideally suit an honest, independant student looking for comfort, and quiet. It has a beautiful sunset view. I've been told the room is above standard. We have wifi and bills are to be shared. We are very easy going and friendly , and would enjoy getting together for a meal once a week. . We eat meat. We have shared with many international students and have made many friends this way. I am a single mother with a young daughter so parties are definitely NOT OK. House cleaning is to be strictly shared and done on a weekly basis. Our house is a happy one, and we have a cat, and guinea pigs. There is lots of laughter and chatter but also peace. We are very close to Nicholson Street where the number 1 tram depot is, it's at the end of the line so if you're travelling into town you'll always get the best pick of the seats! It roughly takes about 25-30 minutes to get into town during peak hours in the morning and about the same to get back in the evening. There is a bus stop directly outside the apartment complex which can take you to the Bell railway station. On a beautiful day, we get pretty great views of our surroundings with a lot of leafy trees and a nice breeze. We are close to the 7/11 for late night ice cream trips, a short drive to Sydney Road and High Street and our local pizza shop is only a 5-minute walk away (10 if you're a dawdler like me). The apartment has aircon/heating in the living room but a heater will be provided for you within the room during the winter times. We have a washing machine, a balcony and 500GB of ADSL2+ internet. There is a gym and a sauna accessible for free and a BBQ that takes $1 coins. The courtyard below us is communal but is spacious and great for parties. The room: the available room has a large built-in wardrobe with mirrored doors and a lot of space. It is the master bedroom. The floors are carpeted through-out and there is an existing queen bed within the room. This may be removed. There is a 24/7 Kmart nearby for all your furnishing needs (please let me know if you ever want to go and I will gladly come with you, I love Kmart and I love Gumtree!) The unit is opposite Penders Park - a dog friendly, relaxed park, great to chill out in. There's a little back courtyard and a garage for storage. The general vibe of the unit is cosy, I like indoor plans so there's a few of those about. The unit has air conditioning and heating. You will be living with two males (Paul and Duncan) both in our forties. The house is located on Raleigh Street, Thornbury 3071, it is situated between High st and Victoria St, there are several bus stops nearby and the train and trams of High st which are about a ten minute walk away. Thornbury has plenty of shops, bars and restaurants and every year is getting more and more popular and it’s a great location, our street is very quiet as is your room. We are social and the backyard lends itself to entertaining, and every few months we like to host a BBQ/Party for close friends, and you are certainly welcome to invite friends over use the BBQ anytime, there are even DJ decks you can use if you own any vinyl. It's only an 8 minute walk to the train station (30 minute train ride to Flinders St) and there is a bus that goes straight to La Trobe uni from the train station too. It has a small backyard with flowers and a vegie patch and a big shady peppermint tree. The room is medium sized with a built in wardrobe and large sunny window. The bedroom is unfurnished. I have most furniture for the rest of the house but if you have a couch that would be great.
