Hey all, I have available an unfurnished room in a massive 3 bedroom apartment located on Toorak Rd, and now looking for a new awesome person to share with two straight aussie guys. This apartment is very spacious and comprises of half of the whole floor of the building (It's bigger than a 3 bedroom house). Lots of living space including a large lounge room and dining area, separate full-sized kitchen, balconies that wrap around the whole apartment, and also a sun-room that has a 9' pool table (I'm thinking of getting rid of the pool table though to free up space to use as a second entertainment/lounge area. I'd be happy for you to also setup your things in there too to make it more comfortable and homely). The kitchen has two fridges and the apartment also has ducted gas heating to keep warm during winter. There is also undercover lockup garage space for your car. The apartment building has got a great charm that brand new apartments don't have, it was built before the mindset of maximising profits on fitting in as many tiny apartments as possible into a small area. There is a lift and security buzzer downstairs, plus the interior has been completely repainted white so there is no ugly colour schemes. They don't make them like this anymore! The current flatmate is off on another adventure and I am weighing up whether to keep the place or not. So this listing is up as one option of a few. If the right person lands, I might stick with it. It's small, but a functional, fully decked out and comfortable pad. A place to land after the trials and tribulations of the day and recharge. It's one of only 12 on the block and off the main roads, so it's nice and quiet. Location wise the place is amazing. Tram 6 basically at the doorstep and Armadale station a couple of mins walk. You know when you walk into a house and it feels like a home? That's this apartment. The apartment is gorgeous and filled with natural light. It’s incredibly spacious and cosy. Room comes with a parking spot in the carport at the back of the building. However you can walk to Armadale Station (5 mins) and trams on Dandenong Rd (3mins) and High St (7 mins). There’s great places along High St for brunch or dinner, and Malvern a Central is a casual 10 minute walk away. The apartment block is quiet and the neighbours are friendly and polite. There are multiple gyms nearby- F45 Toorak, Goodlife Armadale, KX Malvern, Recreation Malvern and more. There's a park on the street which occasionally has bootcamp classes. Wifi is fast and $30/month each. Bills come every 2-3 months and are normally quite minimal. The apartment has a split system aircon/heating system in the living room, and it's powerful enough to heat/cool the whole apartment. I will be selling the furniture in my room (double bed + base that are 2 years old) and a few other pieces of furniture. Otherwise, the entire apartment is furnished. p.s- the view of the sunset or sunrise if always gorgeous.
Great older style apartment building (read bigger rooms, hint, hint) in a tree lined street in South Yarra. Located off Toorak Rd, the Apt is under 15 mins walk to South Yarra station, 10 from Chapel street and about 5-7 to Toorak Rd trams. Entrance to Como Park is a few mins walk down the road. BIG 2nd floor apartment, hardwood floors and carpeted bedrooms. Separate lounge and dinning room, big kitchen (with dishwasher) with separate laundry. Bathroom has a shower and bath and there also separate toilet. Plenty of storage outside of bedrooms if needed. The building is generally pretty quite, the apt is at the back of the block with 6 apts in the same building and there's a security entrance to an internal stairwell. I don't have air-conditioning but I haven't found this a problem, the place stays pretty cool in summer as it's double bricked, there's a gas heater in the lounge that's pretty effective but i am on the verge of getting a bedroom heater this year! The bedroom available is a good size, fits a queen bed easily, has built in wardrobes and built in shelf. I lease straight through a landlord, I've lived here for almost 2 1/2 years and I sublet which is kosher with them. The one big win (in my mind) is that the bins are taken out mysterious every week with no intervention from me :) Bills are approx as follows to give you an idea, they are totals so split between 2 : Elec - Quarterly: $230 Gas - Bi monthly: $60-$90 No Water bills Internet (unlimited), if you want to use it, not mandatory by any means: $30/month Rent is paid monthly in advance (calendar month $1,170). There aren't any "rules" specifically but sharing the cleaning of common areas and just generally cleaning up after ourselves is expected but i think that's a general normal human thing.
