It has a brand new double bed and a built in wardrobe and drawers. It also has a bookcase and a blanket box which can be moved out if you prefer something else. You will have almost exclusive use of downstairs bathroom (we will use the upstairs ensuite in the mornings and most other times, but require access to the downstairs loo and the occasional bath!). We would like to continue to have use of the downstairs living room which has foxtel and netflix, and you are welcome to join us there anytime and of course to use it when we are out, or else we can provide a TV/DVD in your room as well. Unlimited internet means you can stream high speed netflix etc too. There's another small living room upstairs. We (Rachel and Mark) are a professional couple and both working full time. We love to cook and hang out having long breakfasts at the weekends, spend a fair bit of time at home then but away all day during the week. We have a toddler who is generally lots of fun and tends to entertain more than he will annoy! Don’t worry he thankfully always sleeps through the night and we will keep him out of your way! We have a cat too who mainly lives outdoors but is always up for a pat. In the week it's just cooking a meal before we crash out watching tv then an early night. Pretty boring really but means our home is a bit of a haven. Happy to have a chat at the end of the day and share a glass of wine. On street parking permit included. Max 10mins walk to ferry, bus stop on corner takes you to Manly or Frenchs Forest, 5min walk to Sydney Rd bus stop which takes you into the city or Chatswood, 5-10mins walk to Manly shops and beaches. Excellent location, quieter/mature building, literally steps to the beach. Water sounds, roof views, no aircon. Total rent is $950/wk, so you're paying significantly less than half price for an excellent room in a great 2BR flat/building. I rely on my AUD$89.00 20GB Telstra broadband plan (tetherable) for internet, and it's been more than enough for home use (I don't do Netflix). Permitted neighbourhood resident parking can be obtained, but I haven't needed it--I get around more conveniently by bicycle/scooter/walking/ferries. This is Manly, convenient low-impact living, Sydney's ideal bedroom community for those working in the city.
The apartment is located in the iconic suburb of Manly, residing on the famous Eastern Hill. It is the quieter part of Manly, while still being in very short proximity to all that is needed within the area. From the front door step, a 2min walk will take you to Little Manly Beach or a 5min walk to Manly Wharf, where the ferry and buses take you to the city. We are both very clean to live with and definitely want the unit to feel like home for everyone. As there are big windows, its naturally filled with light and with a newly painted interior, new carpets, new bathroom and kitchen, with two balconies, we believe its a great place to live. The rent includes foxtel, unlimited internet and netflix. FYI will be WAY more responsive to anyone with a bio thingy slash photo.. Looking for a fun, TIDY, easy going person for a 4-5 month stay (May14 - October) while our other roomie is away. It is not by any means a party house, but we do enjoy having friends round, socialising, listening to good music and generally having a good time - and the occasional party is sweet too, assuming the place doesn't end like Fukushima. The apartment is a 3 bedroom upper level duplex filled with a shitload of grandfather clocks and loads of character. Once you get past the clocks there are two great balcony's (one of which is your own/off the bedroom up for rent), a bar, and a modern kitchen. The apartment has a very homely feel, gets great airflow and sun, is always kept clean and tidy and has AC and gas heating. Basically we do out best to keep it a fun and social yet clean and respectful pad. Street parking available and we have super friendly slash slightly-mental neighbours. The front balcony is perfect for beers and the 8pm zulu dance you will be required to perform every day for the full duration of your stay. It has a hammock and BBQ and a bunch of bench seats. We're right near Harris Farm, a convenience store, cafe(s), and most importantly, a bottle shop, a pizza joint and just one block from the beach! 5-10 mins walk to the corso or a 2 minute bike ride. Cleaning is a shared responsibility. Not fussed as to the hours you work or keep so long as we can all share the place with no drama and the bills are paid on time and the place is kept clean. After an easy going, social and interesting person to join the house. The room comes furnished with a bed (queen) and has a wardrobe and a few other bits of furniture etc. Obviously feel free to rearrange and do whatever you like to the aesthetics of the room while it's yours. Internet and all bills are included and a street parking permit will be your too. No couples, mega-squares or asshats. Sorry :)
