Hi,
My name is Matt, I’m 32 and I'm a full time student at Melbourne studying ecosystem management and conservation. I’m looking for somewhere to live vaguely close to the uni. I'm very accepting of others and like to get along well with other people, and would describe myself as socially and environmentally conscious and want to live with like-minded people.
I’m a clean and responsible person when it comes to living in shared houses, and I’m always happy to do my share of household tasks; I've been living in shared houses for all of my time in Melbourne. I love running (especially parkrun!), cycling, and being outdoors, but also enjoy reading, listening to music, drawing, painting, craft activities, and watching films and TV shows. I also love any form of games, especially board games and outdoor games!
I am sociable but also respect other people’s space. I love plants and animals and have a few houseplants that I would hope to bring with me (I will fit as many of them as possible into my room and can put the others up for adoption if there is no space for them in other parts of the house). I’m vegan but never bothered by other people's cooking or diet choices.
I enjoy cooking and I’m happy to participate in group cooking if people are interested (although I’m no chef). I don’t really drink or party but I am partial to the odd pub night (especially if there is trivia or pool) or going out for food. I would be keen to be involved in household get-togethers or group activities if others were interested. Mostly I'll be busy studying in term time so I am looking for somewhere which is mostly quiet and sensible but ideally also has a sense of community.
I’m originally from the UK and have been renting in Melbourne since 2016. I love it here and have explored all over the state. I love hiking and camping and hope to spend time away on occasion for road trips and hiking excursions. I'm ideally looking for somewhere I can sign onto a lease for at least a year to cover my time as a masters student after having been moved around by landlords on a couple of occasions over the last year.
Let me know if you feel like I would be a good fit, I look forward to hearing from you!
Matt
