Akila Isuru Elangasinghe

Hi! I’m Akila, a PhD student in Engineering at UTS. I’m from Sri Lanka and recently completed my master’s degree in Germany. I spend most weekdays either at my lab in Botany or at the main UTS campus, so I’m usually out during the day.

I’m generally introverted and tend to keep to myself at first, but once I’m comfortable, I’m friendly and always up for a good chat. Having lived in shared housing for several years, I’m very familiar with shared responsibilities and maintaining clean, respectful living spaces. In my downtime, I enjoy running, cooking, and relaxing with my PS5.

I’m currently based in Kingsford and looking to move closer to Mascot for easier access to the lab. I’d like to request an inspection, so please feel free to contact me to arrange a suitable time. I’m aiming for a move-in during the second week of January. I’m initially looking for a stay of around 3–6 months, with the option to extend if it’s a good fit.
