Hey everyone
I am a 52-year-old New Zealander from New Plymouth and arrived in Brisbane September 2025. I made the hard decision to leave my family in NZ (for now) while I obtained employment as I had been out of work in NZ for 3 months.
I am currently staying with my Aunt & Uncle in Marsden but am wanting to move out early 2026.
I am working for SEQH at Port of Brisbane and got the job within 2 days of arriving. My hours are 11am - 8pm M-F with the odd weekend work.
I have my own car to get to work and home and to explore this great city on weekends. I love to go to live sport or happy to watch on tv and definitely don't mind doing chores around the house (my wife trained me well)
I would like to find 1 bed of some description, preferably furnished as I don't have anything currently and a private bathroom, but it isn't a deal breaker. I pretty much keep to myself and can be a little introverted to start with until I get used to my surroundings but once I settle in and get comfortable, I can talk too much. I have a GSH and also don't have a problem with laughing at myself.
