[Looking for Room / Short-Term Accommodation near Shafston / South Bank] 🇦🇺

Hi everyone! 👋
I’m Joy, a Taiwanese professional traveling with my 12-year-old son, Roy, on a 5-month educational journey across 3 continents.

We are looking for a room or a small self-contained space in a friendly Share House, Homestay, or Sublet. One of our main goals is for Roy to experience what it really feels like to live alongside people from different cultures — not just as a visitor, but as a neighbour. 🌍✨

Here are our stay details:
📍 Preferred Location: Kangaroo Point, South Brisbane, South Bank, East Brisbane (close to Shafston International College / public transport).
🗓 Dates: Around August 28, 2026 for approximately 4 weeks (flexible by a few days).
💰 Budget: $400 – $500 AUD / week (including bills & Wi-Fi; flexible for the right place with great amenities!).
🏠 Room Preference: While Roy is very quiet, respectful, and genuinely well-behaved, we fully understand that sharing a bathroom with a child might not be everyone's preference. For everyone’s comfort, we’d love a Master Room with a private ensuite (bathroom) or a separate space if possible — but please don’t worry if it’s a shared bathroom, we are completely open and flexible!

📖 A little about us:
We’re not typical tourists — this trip is intentional. Roy is starting middle school after this journey, and I want him to experience the world before the world gets too scripted. This is his first time outside Asia, and we believe the best way to learn about the world is to share a home with it.

Weekdays he’ll be at Shafston International College nearby, and weekends we’re usually out exploring.

We are:

🥐 Early-to-bed, make-our-own-breakfast kind of guests.

We always keep shared areas tidy and fully respect everyone’s personal space and privacy. Your home will be treated with the utmost care and respect.
