So I'm setting up a new flat in Pascoe Vale. It's an older place and has a few quirks and rough edges but has a lot of great qualities too. All flatmates will need to be approved by the landlord. This will involve filling out an application from the real estate agency and waiting to hear back from the landlord. The lease term is 6 months. It's a 3 bedroom place, the bedrooms are a good size, should fit double/queen beds with ample room to spare. 2 of the rooms have built in wardrobes and the third gets nice evening sun and is the largest of the 3. The back yard is huge! There's a vege garden right at the back of the yard that I plan on planting ASAP and a compost bin and water tap for easy watering. I plan on composting so would prefer flatmates with an interest in gardening/recycling/sustainability. I'm not militant about it by any means but have become more interested in being a good earth citizen the older I get. There is a lockable garage on the property as well as an attached shed that contains a work bench so if you need a space to tinker, build or mend things this would be great for you. The shed is powered. The back yard is secured with a lockable gate and there are high fences around the whole property that provide nice privacy. This seems like it would be an ideal yard for a pet, I've asked the agent if pets are allowed, she um'd and ah'd and indicated the landlord would not be keen but I invite you to come check out the place and if interested we can send an application to the agent and see what happens. No smoking in the house! I'm a non smoker but I totally don't mind if you are. There is a covered veranda at the back of the house that will be perfect to hang out and have a durry if that's your sort of thing. Unlimited ADSL2 internet will be included in the rent, it's $60 a month and between 3 people will work out to about $5 a week each. Gas, electricity and water will be split equally and payed as they come in. It is located about a 10min walk from the end of the 58 tram line and 10-15 min walk from batman station on the upfield train line. There is a coles about 200-300 meters walk and there is a shopping center near the batman station where there is a Bunnings and Office Works. And finally... I'm coming out of a furnished place and have all the furniture for a flat but this place is huge and if you have some furniture that would be beneficial. My couches are a bit rough and would be more suitable outside under the veranda. My fridge is pretty small and may struggle to fit 3 peoples food inside. My TV is only about 32 inches and would be pretty small for the lounge. I have a good washing machine but no dryer and I have a small ikea dining table which will be good in a pinch but as I said, there is plenty of space if you have one that you want to bring with you.
