About the property

Don’t miss this opportunity! A newly renovated 2 bedroom cottage on 150 acres with deep river frontage. Its 15min from the centre of port mac, or 15min to Charles Sturt University, which is actually closer than Wauchope! It’s 2 bedrooms with 1 bathroom. There’s a 2 car sized carport and a small storage area. Two huge garden beds on the side of the house perfect for a decent vege garden. Aircon being installed this month. Plenty of room for outdoor activities - whether dirt bike, gardening, fishing, you name it there’s space to do it!

Entry to the property is 2 km down a dirt road, just past Ricardoes Tomatoes and Strawberry farm. Council has said they will tar the road sometime in 2021 (but still accessible with a normal car).

On the property also lives two middle age couples who live in a house shed and a smaller shed. One couple are the owners who are very friendly, and the other couple are very quiet and keep to themselves. The owners are very helpful Aussie characters whom I have known for many years.

They have lots of animals whom live across the 150 acres!!! Dogs, cats, goats, pigs, sheep, cows, miniature horses, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, and there is nearly always baby animals around. You can be involved with the animals as little or as much as you like as there’s always room for a helping hand or to nurse a sick or baby animal if that’s in your nature.

The main house paddock where the two main houses are backs onto beautiful deep river frontage, with a place to launch a boat. They also have a tinny, kayaks, a canoe, and crab traps that we can share if we contribute to petrol and look after the items well. There is also a huge fire pit area great for camp fires and a proper bbq kitchen by the river!

You’ll definitely enjoy the lifestyle of this place and it’s a unique opportunity to live on the land and enjoy all the things to do in your own backyard.

I will be furnishing all common areas but if you have anything that would be welcome as well. So far I am only missing a TV

About the flatmates

I am a late 20s health professional who has just moved from Sydney for a new job. You’ll also be living with my 2yo Cavoodle, Ollie. He is small at 6kg, low shedding/has a hypoallergenic coat (doesn’t get the dog smell and I bath him frequently). Looking for a housemate that will love him as part of the family.

I enjoyed live music pre-covid, and am pretty crafty (diy projects, art, sewing). I spend time writing work reports on weekends or exploring new places with Ollie, but totally down for bbqs, housemate dinners, and relaxing together on the weekend or after work too.

Wanting a friendly down to earth housemate who is sociable, tidy, hygienic, respectful, and mature, but not overbearing or OCD. I don’t have time or mental energy for drama, just good vibes to relax after often stressful days at work.

I am down to earth and friendly, enjoying the company of others (but also can be introverted and retreat for my own space), and would like a housemate that I genuinely would enjoy the company of and become friends.

I am quite clean and tidy and would like a housemate with similar standards, such as regular help cleaning common areas, washing up soon after meals, cleaning up spills and food mess immediately. I have lived in sharehouses for 11 years so I’m well versed in respectful house sharing and would expect the same from you. Id be down for bbqs, sharing meals, etc.

Rent always needs to be 2 weeks in advance, 4 weeks bond. Bills are cheap and will be split evenly (gas water electricity and internet) which must be paid on time, every time. You’ll need to provide previous rental ledger/history/references. I will be formally subletting the room to you. When you eventually want to move out I will require 4 weeks notice, and will extend the same courtesy to you as well.

You must be 35 years or younger, no preference for male or female as long as you are hygienic and clean up after yourself :)
