About the property

A spacious, character-filled home with exposed brickwork, arched doorways, and warm, cosy living spaces not your average rental. The house has large open living areas, air conditioning, a well-equipped kitchen, a generous bathroom with both a bath and shower, a separate toilet, and a separate laundry with washer and dryer.

The house is right next to the Serpentine River, with access to a great walking trail that we regularly use to walk Mr Winston, perfect for anyone who enjoys being outdoors.

Because we both work FIFO, the house is often quiet and you’ll have the place mostly to yourself for a large part of the month. The rent is cheaper than market to reflect the dog-care arrangement.

This setup will best suit someone who genuinely enjoys dogs and is comfortable taking on dog-care responsibilities in exchange for cheaper rent and having the house largely to themselves.

About the flatmates

A little about us: we’re a couple in our mid-20s, both working FIFO. Jak’s on a 3/1 roster and I’m on an 8/6, so the house is often quiet and you’ll get plenty of time with the place to yourself.

When we’re home, we’re social, easygoing, and casual drinkers. We enjoy a good chat, and a few drinks here and there, but we’re also respectful of each other’s space and value a relaxed, comfortable home environment.

Because of our FIFO schedules, a key part of living here is helping care for our dog, Mr Winston, while we’re both away at work. This works out to around two weeks per month. He is a large dog with a strong personality and will require daily walks (minimum 2km), feeding, and general care, and must be kept on lead at all times. Experience with larger dogs is important, and this responsibility isn’t optional.

The rent is set lower than market value to reflect this arrangement, so this setup would really suit someone who genuinely enjoys dogs and is happy to take on that responsibility in exchange for cheaper rent and having the house mostly to themselves.

We’re looking for someone likeminded who’s responsible, down-to-earth, and happy to be part of a relaxed, social home, and who understands and is comfortable with the dog-care commitment involved.
