Available from Monday 9 February 2026, one large, private room measuring approximately 5 x 5m, with ceiling heights of approximately 3m plus, is available for $280 per week rent, plus $23 expenses per week, per person. This is a naturally light filled space on the leafy edge of Burwood on Wangle Country. The north facing window is openable and allows for great light all day long and warmth during the cooler months.

Common areas include a fully functional kitchen, 2 bathrooms, a reading room, laundry and large front and back yards which are the basis for experimental sustainable, native habitat, biodiversity projects.

Close to shops, great food and transport options, the large house is approximately 20 minutes leisurely walk to Burwood or Croydon train stations, a combination of dedicated bicycle itineraries and direct buses in all directions: to the city, Strathfield, Burwood or Sydney domestic and international airports. The Cooks River (with connection to the Green Way) and Parramatta River cycle ways are a 5-10 minute ride away.

You will be living with your landlords as well as young and middle aged students. There are 6 of us in total but given the size of the house and our individual schedules, the house never feels crowded. Most of us are keen cyclists and permaculture enthusiasts. You will be expected to contribute to a weekly cleaning roster, ensure the house is kept clean and participate in engaging with sustainable practices, including water and energy saving measures, feeding the worm farms, recycling and composting. You would be welcome to join our small gardening group and contribute to the development of a biodiverse natural habitat. As a place that encourages the return of endemic species, dogs or cats will not be accepted.

As creatives, we are open to hearing from artists requiring a live/work space. This room can be customised to suit. Painting walls is possible.

Couples will only be considered for short stays.
