The pictures are of another apartment in the same building that looks exactly like mine (Same view as well). My lease ends at the end of March and I am unlikely to renew it here (I haven't enjoyed dealing with Meriton so I'll very likely be looking to move somewhere else when it's up) so this would be a short stay.
Putting this into the ether on the odd chance there is someone who is willing to put up with me as a room mate. I am in no rush or need to find someone.
I am at a phase in my life where I'm working towards a very toxin free life (I know it's a bit of a buzz-word). This looks like: avoiding non-stick pans, cooking with stainless steel, using filtered/distilled water, removing synthetic clothing or clothing with pesticides/insecticides on it, trying to avoid plastic, removing synthetic/chemical smells, using only natural cleaning substances (baking soda, vinegar, lemon, etc), removing unnecessary radiation from my spaces, avoiding foods with seed oils, pesticides, etc. and so on. hopefully you get a bit of an idea.
I can be quite OCD about that sort of stuff plus germs and such. If you're the kind of person who puts their bag down on the ground in public and comes home and puts it on the kitchen counter without a second thought, this isn't the home for you. This is for the person who takes their shoes off at the door. I am looking for someone who is considerate of that kind of contamination.
If you work in an industry which frequently is exposed to chemicals, or any kinds of toxins (Building, construction, cleaning, pest removal, etc), then it would not work out. It should be pretty obvious by this point it's absolutely a no smoking home, and as much as I love animals and have lived with them most of my life it's unfortunately no pets.
Anything you do that could affect me in terms of those kinds of things would likely annoy me. e.g. I don't care if you drink from a plastic bottle (I do too sometimes), because that has no affect on me. But if you open a window on a day when there's fires and the house smells like smoke, that affects me, or if you cook with my pots using pesticide covered ingredients, that affects me, or if you spray a whole bunch of axe body spray in your room and it drifts into the main room and I can smell it, that affects me.
If for some odd reason you're still reading then here is some info about me and the place:
I am 35 years old, did a bachelor's of science at Macquarie university. I work from home and am home a lot of the time, I'm generally introverted but also love a good chat and would be happy to make friends with people if they wanted. I used to do a bit of hiking, camping, kayaking, diving, etc. but I'm currently working towards a more minimalist lifestyle so I've sold or am in the process of selling most of my hobby stuff. I like to binge tv series and watch movies (if they're good), I like gaming (But I stopped when I got a macbook), and I love good music. I enjoy learning and having deeper conversations, and I especially want to hear about your conspiracy theories.
The biggest downside to the place is that it's situated right above the M2, which means that with the windows/doors open it is quite loud, and even with all of them shut, you can hear the whoosh of cars going by, which to be honest kind of sounds like waves at the beach but when a loud vehicle goes by it really kills that vibe and you can still hear it. So other than me, I believe this would be the main factor that would turn someone off.
There are two rooms, each with their own private bathrooms, none of them will be furnished. The first room is just the room with the bathroom outside of the room (i.e. you have to walk out of the room to go to the bathroom). The second room has the bathroom attached (Ensuite) so you can walk into it without leaving the room, it also has a bathtub which the other does not. The second room has direct access to the balcony. Both have their pros and cons and I like both so if you had a preference I can move into which ever one you don't want. Each room has its own A/C and controls.
This is definitely not a party house, but I am happy for you to have family/friends over every now and then (So long as they are also considerate of all the stuff I mentioned). I have family over occasionally. I would let you know any time someone who isn't me is coming over, and I would expect the same from you. I value privacy and expect you will never enter my room/bathroom without asking first. I may want to check your room/bathroom once a week just to make sure it's being kept clean but as I mentioned I would let you know beforehand and never go in without your permission. Unfortunately there are no locks on any of the doors except the first rooms bathroom.
There is only one parking space which at the moment is free but I plan to get a car soon. There are a lot of guest spaces so I figure something could be sorted with management but for now assume no parking.
There is a washer and dryer but depending on what you want to wash I may be particular about if you can use it or not. There is not much in the place at the moment just some shelves and a fold up table. There is a small storage unit where the parking is which is empty that you can use.
Electricity/water/internet(500mbps) are included in the price within reason (i.e. if you decide to run a bitcoin mining operation that would be considered unreasonable or if you want to run the A/C all day at 15 degrees. If your use is beyond what would be reasonably acceptable I may ask you to pitch in some more.
The biggest benefit to this place is it's super close to the shops, the uni, the buses, and the metro. Like 5 minutes walk away. The place has a sauna and pool and very small gym. A lot of people don't read the ad fully, so if you message me please include the number 20 before your message so I know you've read this.
Hopefully this gives you a good enough idea of what you're in for. I have been described as ADHD/OCD/Autistic, and I prefer people who are willing to be upfront about any issues that arise, I really like to get ahead of any issues the second they start, so if I do something that annoys you I would love if you could tell me immediately, and I would do the same for you. Most of the time it will be something to do with the cleanliness/toxins stuff for me. So I really need someone who is considerate of these things, and I will be considerate of whatever it is you value most in a home.
If by some rare chance I find someone that will put up with these requirements I can send you videos/photos of the actual place, and we can meet up to make sure it will work out. You will also have to be approved by my real estate. Given all of these circumstances I genuinely don't expect to have anyone to fill the room but I thought I'd put it out there any way. I could be flexible on price for the right person.
